  1. I thought when he was signed it was reported he wasn't expected to be ready till around August. Could be wrong though.
  2. This isn't a dig at anyone but how do you people have the time to watch so many shows? I have like 4 or 5 that I try to keep up with but I'm generally weeks behind all of them. I'll read about some show that sounds like I would like it but ultimately decide I don't even have time for the stuff I'm already watching so I can't add any more.
  3. When you're driving with your cruise on but the person in front of you isn't and their top speed varies +/- 10 MPH.
  4. Absolute joke of a call by the umps. No way Musgrove should have been thrown out and really Donaldson didn't do all that much either. He was walking to first until the catcher put his hands on him and that's when he shoved him. The catcher should have been tossed too then.
  5. I hate Bumhole and would find it very difficult to cheer for him if he was ever a Brewer. He was already yelling at Muncy when he was about one step out of the box. And of the homeruns I've seen "admired" this was incredibly tame and barely noticeable. Get over yourself you crap turd.
  6. Because about a century ago someone decided it was wrong and therefore it was "un"-written in stone and so shall ever be.
  7. There are enough "unwritten rules" for guys to get their panties in a twist over. This is one that needs to go. However, if you're down 8-0 but your team has a hit are you going to bunt? Almost 99.9% no. So if you do it down 8-0 when you're being no hit you're clearly doing it just to break up the no-hitter. I know that's not what happened here and I'm not even sure what I'm trying to say but you shouldn't be changing your offensive approach simply because your team doesn't have a hit.
  8. He also posts videos to his Facebook page, although not as frequently.
  9. What do these guys do that people can't already find out through other sources anyway? Are you really being any kind of a journalist if your post game questions are "Tough game, looks like you struggled to score runs" or "Good win, seemed like the pitcher threw a good game today."
  10. My best guess is that the team's medical staff deemed him healthy. It's a rehab assignment, not an option to AAA. When players are deemed recovered from their injury, it is expected that they are activated. Was he even really injured in the first place? (25% blue) Guys aren't going to play anywhere if they are hurt. A rehab assignment isn't about getting healthy it's about getting AB's to shake off the rust. Maybe Shaw's "rust" is gone but nothing he did against inferior AAA was very inspiring.
  11. Maybe this has been addressed already but it looks like Shaw had a little over a week left on his rehab assignment. Why did a decision have to be made now? It's not like there are pitchers involved and fresh arms were needed.
  12. There is no such thing as journalism for any subject. It's just about Tweets to generate buzz.
  13. Counterpoint - Travis Shaw has been one of the team's best hitters for two whole seasons previous to the 40-some games he's played this year. I don't have a problem with bringing Shaw back. It's sending down Hiura. I understand the logjam having them both creates but Hiura's slash numbers are all best or close to best on the team.
  14. Total eyeroll to this move. Send down one of your few hitters who's been doing well to bring back a guy who has been just about your worst hitter all year.
  15. He’s been outstanding in the minors his entire career. Saying he’s figuring it out this year is an insult to his body of work Agree, been very good in minors, but this year is just at another level. I don't know. I looked at his minor league career. Nothing jumps out at me. Some good years but mostly average to meh.
  16. I don't really believe anyone could say with a straight face that right now the lineup would be better with Shaw in it and Keston not.
  17. Guys generally don't "figure it out" at age 30 in AAA. He's roster filler, 4A at best.
  18. I think it was Jake Peavy retired after his divorce because he had custody of his kids but that's not exactly the same. Must be a messy situation or the Cubs are just glad to get his sub .600 OPS bat off the roster.
  19. I was just looking at the Rockies hitting stats for fantasy purposes and I had never realized just how much Coors inflates their offensive numbers. This year their team OPS is just under .900 at home. For reference, the highest team OPS so far this year is the Twins at .851, followed by the Astros at .834, and Dodgers at .816. Even with that huge home OPS, their overall team OPS sits just 11th in MLB. Looking back the last few years their home OPS is about .175-.200 points higher than on the road ever year.
  20. I feel the same about him. He's been ridden hard every year and for a few deep postseason runs. Maybe's he's one of the exceptions but he's bound to crash at some point after so much mileage. Plus he's a turd who blows a gasket if a batter cracks the tiniest of a smile after homering off of him.
  21. The city is putting a crazy amount of effort in to something totally pointless while there are literally thousands of much more serious violations being totally ignored because they're assuming they will get little pushback from you while they know those other violators will fight tooth and nail and they don't want to deal with them. That's just how local government works. In my town a couple years ago one woman threw a fit at city council meeting and because of her they passed an ordinance saying you can't grow vegetables in your front yard or whatever the city considers your front yard. I have no idea if this has ever actually been enforced but that they even wasted time discussing it is ridiculous.
  22. We're talking a couple months of Rendon. I don't think there's any way Stearns gives up any prospects of real value for that. What he's worth in a trade is a whole other discussion.
  23. Considering every team does it, and while some players have openly complained, no player has come out and said I hate my organization and will hold it against them for doing it. I wouldn't send down Keston for the sake of Super 2. If it got another year of team control I absolutely would though.
