  1. How about a change of scenery trade of former high prospects. Keston Hiura for Jared Kelenic? Hiura can play a little 1B and DH where the Mariners currently have Carlos Santana and Justin Upton. Kelenic fills in the 4th OF role And hopefully becomes something more. (This isn’t a Kelenic is from Wisconsin move either). I would look into this or maybe Jo Adell with the Angels.
  2. And Jason Alexander gets another start while Small is in AAA. Alexander just isn’t good. Give Small an opportunity. He at least has a future whereas Alexander is AAAA at best.
  3. Absolutely zero accountability for garbage play and garbage in game decision making. This has been a problem for awhile but ignored because CC is considered one of the best.
  4. Can we finally accept that Counsell gets a pass for having no answers for the offense being consistently terrible? For as much as the “pitching lab” gets credit, the inability of this regime to identify and coach their way out of slumps and the lack of questioning baffles me.
  5. I truly long for the 80s and 90s style of baseball. Putting the ball in play. Hitting it where they ain’t. I don’t understand today’s game. im sure someone will tell me about how they didn’t throw so hard in those days. Apparently some teams have figured out how to hit still.
  6. This team is not fun to root for. Give me back all offense, no pitching. At least it was enjoyable to watch.
  7. Without knowing the return, I love it. This is already better than Severino.
  8. I understand the allure of Gallo but man is he not my kind of ball player. In 2020-2021, he hit .194 and had 292 Ks over 842 PA and 691 ABs. Yes, he hit 48 HR and had an OPS+ of 112 but that AVG and K just lead me to believe that’s a lot of rally killing outs. I could be wrong but I’d rather gamble on trading for a Meadows or Jeff McNeil or Dom Smith type over acquiring Gallo. Their focus should be on high AVG, consistent contact types to maximize the O. Think Yelich as a Marlin.
  9. Meadows would be a perfect fit for this team. With Cain and McCutchen likely gone after 2022, Meadows would be a nice longer term fit. I’d be willing to part with something of value for this. Would I rather take Conforto for free? Yes, but…what’s the OF plan after 2022 outdid if Yelich and Renfroe?
  10. I would think something much more simple would be of interest to the Yankees. Voit for Houser or Lauer SHOULD be what they are asking for. I wouldn’t take that if I were the Brewers FO as I want the rotational depth. I would rather it be something more based around the edges of the Brewers MLB roster or a middle reliever. Not sure there is an actual fit from what I’d be willing to deal given that Voit would be in a timeshare with Tellez and expanding it to include Gallo could be just a super expensive, and possible downgrade, from Tellez.
  11. Conforto would be a great add. I always thought of him as a Marlin Yelich type, with a bit more power and a bit less AVG. Unfortunately I think the economics of the situation precludes him from ever being a realistic option though. I would guess he gets $20m per year.
  12. My solution to the DH, which the Union would never agree to, is to go to 8 man lineups. You no longer have the pitcher hitting and you do away with the DH entirely. I know it’s unrealistic but there is just something wrong about sitting the bench all game other than to hit 3-4x. This isn’t adult league softball.
  13. I wonder what the Brewers and Angels would think about a Hiura for Adell trade? On face value, I would think both teams might have some interest in that deal.
  14. Can anyone think of a comparable situation to Yelich? Meaning a massive extension coming off what should have been back-to-back MVP seasons only to completely forget how to hit? For the life of me I cannot ever recall seeing something so dramatic. (FWIW, I don’t think a broken kneecap should have this big of an impact nor do I think 2021 should be attributed to COVID). I mean this is like Giannis all off a sudden regressing into Dan Gadzuric
  15. I would do the deal if Urias was replaced with Hiura. What would that trade look like in terms of values?
  16. Would a trade of Hader, Hiura and Mitchell for Chapman and Olson work? I would love to acquire both but guess that those three would only get one of those and a prospect. I imagine Hader would be flipped by Oakland as well for additional prospects or included in a three-way deal with a team I cannot think of.
  17. I don’t understand this trade from Boston’s perspective at all. Binelas and Hamilton are fine prospects but to take on JBJ’s entire salary, even as a large market, seems strange to me. Almost like they are also acknowledging a mistake they made in not re-signing him. Again, also questionable. Overall, a plus for both teams I believe. Red Sox bring back a fan favorite who I expect to bounce back. Brewers get out of the contract and mostly replace Garcia’s bat, while also (possibly) freeing up money for other improvements.
  18. I would love this trade. Bohm is the type of hitter the Brewers should be targeting. High average, low strikeout (save his down 2021) hitter. More guys like this please.
  19. I honest to god never thought I’d say this, but if the Brewers can get out of that contract now they should.
  20. There is no evidence of anything suspicious but even me as a diehard Brewer and Yelich fan has begun to question how he was so great in 2018 and 2019 and became what he has become in 2020 and 2021. A broken kneecap surely can’t be the only reason.
  21. Yelich is a $25m a year .240, singles hitter now. It’s really depressing.
  22. I have been the biggest Peterson hater on the site and I have to agree with this sentiment. He has proven to be a valuable backup and I am happily eating crow related to him. I have to wonder though if he is performing due to the amount of starts he is getting now rather than starting only once a week. If he reverts to previous form once Wong is healthy, he may not be a perfect fit as a backup. Will be interesting to see. Like I stated previously though, glad to eat crow right now related to Peterson.
