  1. Even a hurt Brewers team should be able to take 2/3 from the Reds and 3/4 from the Marlins. 5-2 home stand and leave Milwaukee 13-10. Let's go Crew!
  2. Archer sure has not gotten off to a great start this season: 16 IP, 17 H, 11 ER, 6 BB, 20 K Stearns go get him at a discount!
  3. I'll be at all three games in San Diego ladies and gentlemen. 75 degrees, clear and breweries abound around Petco. Let's go Crew! Sweep to start 2018!
  4. What about the Marlins the year after they signed Jose Reyes, Heath Bell and Mark Buerhle? Didn't they tear that down real quick?
  5. Why wait until the deadline if this is all it takes?
  6. I see Aguilar as being the odd man out in the 1B battle if only for the reason that he and Braun are both RH. Given Braun's injury history as well, I think the Brewers will make their choice of who they prefer to see at 1B for six weeks straight....Thames or Aguilar? I am guessing that is Thames.
  7. Win-Loss Record: 84-78 Playoffs (Yes, No): No Highest Playoff Level Achieved: N/A All Star Game Representative(s): Yelich, Knebel, Shaw Offensive Player of the Year: Yelich (.300, 100+ R, 25 HR, 20 SB) Pitcher of the Year: Anderson (regresses but still pitches to 3.5 ERA) Most Surprising Player: Villar (bounces back to a .265 AVG and 30 SB) Most Disappointing Player: Suter and Chacin in two of the rotation spots will be the main culprit why the Brewers miss the second wild card by one game.
  8. While this offseason was the one to go grab a FA pitcher, I agree with this. I imagine the Yelich trade will be the model for how the Brewers acquire high end talent in the future, meaning dealing high end prospects for controllable talent. This is why Fullmer, Archer or Stroman are ideal candidates for fan speculation as to the next big move.
  9. Briggs you seriously need to stop bashing Villar at every opportunity you get. We get it. You don't like him. However, there was no way that he was getting non-tendered.
  10. Assuming the leaks about the Brewers offers are accurate, you really have to believe they are very confident about Jimmy Nelson and his recovery. Cobb and Lynn were signed to affordable offers and the Brewers either passed or offered a very short term offer. I am very encouraged if this is the reason they weren’t heavily involved in signing a FA pitcher as Nelson is equal or better to all the FA pitchers.

  12. I have always been a proponent of going back to the royal and yellow ball and glove logo and uniform as it just is the Brewers to me but I have to agree that the M and barley has become timeless to me as well. It is a very understated and underrated look in my opinion.
  13. 1. CF Lorenzo Cain 2. LF Christian Yelich 3. 1B Ryan Braun 4. 3B Travis Shaw 5. RF Domingo Santana 6. C Manny Pina 7. SS Orlando Arcia 8. 2B Jonathan Villar This should be the everyday lineup most days. I really hope Counsell doesn't get cute and decide that Sogard or Villar should bat leadoff.
  14. Please no...My 3 day bachelor party in San Diego includes going to all three games against the Padres. Give me Anderson, Chacin and Suter/Woodruff please.
  15. I like this point. As Brewers fans we are used to our significant FA additions being Sean Berry, Jeffrey Hammonds or Jeff Suppan. While I believe Cobb is better than them and I wanted him, I definitely don't see him as the TOR arm the Brewers need and spending $15 million annually for a #3 may preclude the Brewers from extending Shaw or Arcia or Knebel. This is a new mindset for me as a Brewer fan and I am embracing it. Do I think the roster makes sense? No. But I do believe there will be some movement to make sense of the roster soon.
  16. This sums up how I feel pretty well. I am sure there is a plan and we will eventually see what it is. Perhaps the Brewers are finally doing what we have always wanted them to do and not buy meddling, mediocre or non-needle moving starting pitchers and going with our prospects. I am excited to see Woodruff, Burnes in the rotation. If we are going with what we have, then go with the youth and not the Gallardo/Miley types.
  17. I wanted Cobb badly on this team but 4 years @ $60 million is a lot. All this talk about collusion and yet Darvish got $21 AAV, Arrieta got $25 AAV and Cobb got $15 AAV. Sounds like the market is actually about where we thought it would be in November.
  18. If the Brewers give #4 and #5 to Suter and Woodruff instead of Gallardo and Miley then I will agree.
  19. I know I may be one of the only people it bothers, but can the Brewers please pick a logo and use it as the only logo in these type of events? Using the M with barley on the hard hats and shovels, while using the ball and glove on the planter box is horrible branding as it appears the Front Office cannot choose one logo or the other.
  20. Please god no! I can't take much more of this thread and, on a purely selfish level, I am counting on him as my seventh SP in Fantasy Baseball
  21. This precisely almost pushed me to abandoning the Brewers entirely around 2002. While I loved certain players of that era, Cirillo, Burnitz, Jenkins and Sexson, I was so frustrated about the Brewers never being good and seemingly never having a plan on how to get there that I flirted with becoming a fan of my hometown Dodgers. Winning a World Series and having to endure another decade of Brewers teams without direction does not sound enjoyable in the least.
  22. I still go with B. Winning a championship would be nice but 1 championship doesn’t make up for 9 losing seasons. For us Packer fans, imagine enduring 9 2017 seasons after the 2010 Super Bowl. The Packers would still have two more seasons of losing to endure to make 9 seasons.
