  1. Dang. I wanted Ezeiruaku. All the CBs still out there.....
  2. Bizarro. Take a guy who isn't sure if he wants to be Bob Dylan or Willie Nelson and give him a classical guitar and throw him on stage.
  3. I don't/didn't understand the Uribe/Koenig/Mears 5/6/7. Sure seems like Alexander should have been in there in the 5th or 6th.
  4. He had the ball. You can be anywhere if you have the ball.
  5. Maybe he thought they were asking for kgs instead of lbs?
  6. The As have Rooker, Soderstrom and Kurtz. They need everything except a DH. We have a lot of a lot....except a power DH. What would it take to get one of these guys? Are the Brewers on the A's no-trade list after the Ruiz/Contreras deal?
  7. Here is Turang's statcast page: https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/brice-turang-668930?stats=statcast-r-hitting-mlb Click on 2024 vs 2025 on the percentile ranks and the spray chart. He is pulling the ball and hitting it HARD. Still swings slow though, so some regression is probably in play.
  8. We've given a ton of innings to guys who may very well never pitch another inning for us again this year...or at least we shouldn't HAVE to give innings to those guys anymore. I hope.
  9. Skubal IS the better bet, despite Tyler being the vet Say it ain't so treego!
  10. I've never really thought that OF depth in the minors is a thing. It's nice to try and develop true CF prospects, but otherwise unless all you have are DH/1B type guys (that would be weird), there should be enough tools among IF prospects to find roles for them in the corner OF spots if need be.
  11. I didnt necessarily think that the Sox would take Black...it was just an exercise in trade value...the Sox got Priester last year for Yorke, and it seems like Priesters value increased since then despite losing another option year and lack of success at the MLB level...
  12. Is Tyler Black better/more valuable than Nick Yorke? Seems like Black for Priester would have been more tolerable than this haul.
  13. This is my thought as well. We obviously need SP RIGHT NOW, but it seemed that by June we'd have almost too many options....unless Ashby/Woody/Hall/Civale/Cortes are out longer than we think...
  14. I am kind of comforted that Patrick gave up a solo homer in a 7-0 game rather than nibble and walk a guy. That might be my biggest pet peeve in baseball is walking guys with a huge lead.
  15. Is everybody happy now? We can bunt for runs and hit 3 run homers in the same inning! The first bunt was a "meh" decision poorly executed...anything but right back to the pitcher and it is fine--likely scoring a run or going foul. The second bunt was great, Dunn vs a sidewinder lefty is a bad matchup...if it goes foul, no big deal, but he made sure he didn't do what Ortiz did and made the defense make a decision. Good baseball.
  16. Correct....the delay makes me think that one of the Final Four teams is in contact with him (his former FAU teammate Aalijah Martin is on Florida afterall...although Boyd is a NE kid). Obviously, the FF teams don't know what their roster will look like next week let alone next year, so they aren't making any firm offers but perhaps told him they were interested and he has secured UW as his "safety school". Yes, I railed against speculative blather a few posts up and I am blathering pure speculation with this take, but it would make sense.
  17. If you watched him everyday as a Reds fan you'd be begging him to bunt from the right side- EDLC: Year-By-Year: vs LHP Permanent Link Click Year to see all of year's splits I Year G GS PA AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI SB CS BB SO BA OBP SLG OPS TB GDP HBP SH SF IBB ROE BAbip tOPS+ sOPS+ Career 178 347 314 34 65 10 0 8 26 33 7 24 120 .207 .276 .315 .592 99 4 6 3 0 0 2 . 2023 59 122 114 12 21 3 0 2 6 10 1 5 49 .184 .231 .263 .495 30 1 2 1 0 0 0 .302 41 34 2024 116 217 192 22 43 7 0 6 20 23 6 19 69 .224 .307 .354 .661 68 3 4 2 0 0 2 .316 66 87 2025 3 8 8 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 2 .125 .125 .125 .250 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 .167 -38 -27
  18. He had an important run scoring single at some point...
  19. I like them for what I thought they were...a VERY occasional mix-it-up type of thing. But having "Brew Crew" across the chest more than like twice a year gets kinda bush league.
  20. So, he'll no-hit the Reds then?
