  1. To access the chat room, you will have needed to create an account here at the Brewerfan.net Fan Forum. Once you have, the chat link will appear at the top of the message board. I'm confused.
  2. 5. Brewers-Take your pick, Kat, xis & others have banned me from selecting/jinxing picks You could use your powers for good and suggest Drew. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  3. I was just curious how do u start in-game threads? Before we have everyone jumping to start in-game-threads it might be a good idea to setup a format for the initial post (i.e. starter information, etc.). Just a thought.
  4. What a way to start the season. While I'm wary of taking a prep arm with the 5th overall pick, I have said before that I may just make an exception for Adenhart. I could really see this guy making a rapid climb similar to another polished prep prospect drafted a couple of years ago, Zack Greinke. I couldn't understand all the love that was flowing toward Chris Grueler that year because I thought Greinke was the real deal. I'd be all for taking Adenhart also, but unfortunately, I'm almost as big of a jinx as you are when it comes to the Brewers picking prospects. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I highly doubt the Brewers would pick Adenhart because I get the feeling they are targeting a college pitcher no matter who is available at #5.
  5. Does that make me the king of the double entendre?
  6. I just got word that BrewersRadioNetwork.com is planning to add the old shows to the webpage, and will archive all future shows as well. I've been planning to drop 10 pounds for the last 5 years, but I haven't. Let's see if BRN is more successful than me. http://www.producegreen.org.hk/englishgreen/images/pig.gif
  7. You might as well call it the RoberR award and then ban him from winning the award so the rest of us get a chance. Yeah let's tar and feather the bastard while we're at it! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Is that Robber or Robert?
  8. I second that. I unsecond that. I think there are more than enough ways for the posters to recognize a good post than to set up Brewerfan for possible hard feelings if they get into popularity contests. If you like a post let it be known and rank it. Most people (without real jobs and lives http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif ) see most of the posts so they don't need to be taken in hand and walked to a specific topic/post. Just my $0.015.
  9. The main article seemed to be updated maybe once a week during the season. If my recollection truely is that inaccurate, I appolgize. It's not like I started this thread to to be overly critical. I understand. I wasn't trying to be overly critical (I'm extremely busy so my replies are just short, when I get more time then I can be intentionally difficult http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif ). I think it's a good idea for anyone interested to submit an article for brewerfan.net. It can't hurt and you might actually enjoy the process since it isn't a forced excercise like in school.
  10. I realize it's the off-season, but the same thing happens during the season. I have to disagree. During the season there are many times that articles don't last more than a few days on the front page because they get bumped by new stories. Also, all of the articles are contributed by posters here and are rarely if at all solicited. If you think there's a lack of stories in the offseason then you should write one.
  11. And I really hope I'm not the only person going crazy over this. I am too, but I'm not sure that helps or hurts your cause. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  12. The fact that he wasn't afraid to ask for a second opinion is a promising sign. Well it seems that Reid Nichols might have been making a comment on that by stressing that was the original diagnosis of the Brewers. Maybe Reid should be taught the history of the Brewers plight with pitchers. If I was a player in the Brewers organization I wouldn't have a lot of faith in the medical staff and I would want a second opinion. I also might question the nature of Nichols comment. F*** the Brewers diagnosis Reid. I would want a real doctor to look at it.
  13. I was trying to contrast his stance to Krynzel's. I like how little movement both have, but it just seems that Rickie's puts him in much better position to both lay off pitches and turn on them. It's been mentioned by a few scouts, DHonks, not just you. I just find it funny that we had this big article last year about how great RC hand speed was and now one of our top prospects is getting a lot of mention about hand speed. I just don't see where hand speed relates to success, especially with Royce Clayton as an example. Just something in my sick and twisted way that I think is funny.
  14. Weeks looks great out there. I love his stance as it reminds me of Eric Young's (and maybe a bit like Ginter). It's a stance that seems to allow for quick hands to make contact, yet also helps provide some power. Thanks as always, DHonks. Rickie Weeks 0-for-4 with four K's Maybe his hands are too fast for the AFL. Maybe Royce Clayton would be an All-star if we only had a league to match his abilities.
  15. Why not have him play SS? 2 E, 4 R
  16. I'm just teasing you, David. I'm not being an as*, but was just trying to help. I know what's going on...so much so that I can't tell you half of what I know. No problem foamboy, I'm taking the piss out of you too. I can usually take it, but if I'm dishing it out too much then call me on it. I don't mind a little back and forth, although I'm still smarting from my disagreement with scoop and his clear argument that Jenkins and not Sexson is the best Brewers player. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  17. This is all just speculation, though. I'm certainly no insider to the AFL. Ask Foamboy1 he's the ultimate insider.
  18. Please explain. Greg you are new here so I'll cut you some slack, but you will learn never, ever, under any circumstances ask clancyphile to explain. The surgeon General has issued a warning already that reading clancyphile explanations can lead to higher levels of suicide and masochism. Don't. Never. Stop. Please.
  19. It's as reasonable an assumption as any other. Brothers/Sisters (siblings) are more closely related genetically than a parent/child. So a comparison of brothers is better than comparing a father to a son. How about those Canseco, Ripkin, Giambi, and Boone brothers? They all produce identically, right! Just because your father was a good ballplayer doesn't mean that you will be a good ballplayer, especially if your mother passed on some conterproductive genes.
  20. Gwynn looks promising as well - I'd even sitck him as a #3 hitter - if only because he raps a bunch of doubles. He does? Yes in the Clancyverse every Brewer and Brewer prospect projects better than their stats. Prince will have more HR than Babe Ruth by the time he's 30, more than Aaron by the time he's 32 and more than Bonds by the time he's 33. He'll spend the next 11 years of his career setting a record that Prince Fielder Jr may have troubles beating, unless (of course) he's drafted by the Brewers. RoCo, stop letting facts interfere with your projections. Only pessimists are influenced by facts. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  21. We seriously need an ignore feature for the message boards. If EZboard won't implement the feature in the near future I am willing to spend some of my time looking for an alternative message board that offers that feature......If you ever plan on writing your own message board code, Brian, that needs to be a function on the top of the list.
  22. That bat's going to be pretty exciting to watch, and he is only going to continue getting better. Just like Pat Listach? You are the King of Small Sample Sizes. You extrapolate 1 AB into a week, a month, a year, to a career. Then when your favorite Brewer of the nanosecond doesn't have a position because, suprise, someone off the street is better, you want to move him anywhere just to get his bat into the lineup. I see very little difference between your suggestions and the rantings of a madman with a particular interest in baseball. Have you ever checked the "Preview" box at the bottom of the post screen (next to the "Add Reply" button) and ever, EVER, looked at one of your posts, prior to committing it to cyberspace for eternity? If you do reread your posts and they make perfect sense, then I've clearly underestimated the radius of your orbit.
  23. Podsednik in left, Hall in center, Jenkins in right, perhaps? And you orbiting Uranus.
  24. Burnitz can still do that - he's still good for 35 homers and 95-100 RBI a year, [edited by Princess Pooncess for profanity.....]
