  1. I was unaware of how much velocity Bush had gained on his fastball this year.
  2. whats the scoop on Garfield.. hasnt been in the lineup last couple games.. this just to get zarraga some games or because he's a young catcher?
  3. I guess there's no reason to have a hard limit on age. Age is a big enough factor that already gets baked into the equation.
  4. I'm a "what have you done for me lately" kinda guy, so I'd prefer seeing Prince and Garfield in the top 25 personally.
  5. Gindl really locked in tonight, a single, 2 doubles, HR.. getting out of his slump..
  6. any word on the sandwich picks yet? After hearing of the hot starts for Garfield & Prince, I'm excited to hear about the other new guys.
  7. I say you let Rogers work til there's a hit
  8. 3 run lead now for Tennessee going into the 9th
  9. nice call once again X
  10. i think lawrie makes better contact and has a better eye
  11. maybe I haven't noticed before, but I can't recall the last time I saw all Brewer clubs (including the Milwaukee club) in sole possessions of first place across all levels of ball.
  12. maybe it was the angle but it looked to me that the tag was applied after Kendall's foot reached
  13. first off, I've been a huge yost basher.. dressing down pitchers on the mound, terrible decisions and his antics seemed to have the whole team on edge, not to mention a seemingly impossible low IQ. He put that on himself with his continued feebleness over a long period of time. You just knew you could count on him to blow games. I did question Macha tonight as it happened, but Macha has done so many things right for this team, he has a ton of rope to hang himself with. He's still feeling this team out. It's felt so good to have anyone but Yost out there, and Macha has earned my trust and then some.
  14. wow, I probably should have seen it, but I still don't believe it
  15. also there is no way this is related to a Hardy trade. They have no intentions of anyone at SS not name Hardy or Escobar
  16. one comparison with his minor league numbers.. when he has errors, he is also crushing the ball. When he is fielding well, the bat slows down.
  17. Weeks is finally playing 2B well.. no way he moves to CF next year. Has to be a trade in the works.
  18. yeah, but in spite his improved average, his OPS is still terrible
  19. I think Hall's stock will rise this year. LASIK is a fresh story, and he has been adequate defensively at several key positions. I'd like to see him packaged along with another position player for a big arm. We need to improve the quality of the starting pitchers.. no more #4-5 types.
  20. I don't think he could have gotten ball 3 more in the center of the strike zone if he tried
  21. I read the piece on Lawrie, and didnt get the same "awkward" fielding sensation that he had. Lawrie is not "lanky" like Pence.. at all. He is going to be a brick house by the time he hits the bigs.. closer to McGwire than Pence physically. I did find his stance unorthodox, but it looks more Billy Hall to me. He puts that front foot forward and leans back before changing as the ball approaches. EDIT: actually the posted video should be enough to show how he "looks" out there
  22. I've been to 2 T-Rats games so far and didn't think his defense stuck out in a negative way at all. I guess I wasn't following closely enough, but I did recall in both games him making very impressive defensive plays. Nothing negative stuck out in either game. The last game, there was a line drive off the pitcher that I thought he had no chance at whatsoever. He zipped over to the ball with impressive speed and threw a bullet across his body to nail the guy at first. I actually thought his defense was mildly impressive.
  23. yeah i've been a big proponent of Gamel sticking at 3B, but his errors are streaky. He would go 3 weeks at a time last year with no errors, followed by a couple weeks with tons of errors. 10 games won't convince me much.
