  1. I agree with this completely, and maybe I'm off on the tiebreakers, but it's division record, right? I've got the Phillies as 21-19, the Brewers as 18-20, and the Giants as 18-19. Assuming the Phillies go 0-2, the Giants go 0-3 (counting IP game in SD), and the Brewers go 1-1, that would give the Crew the 8 spot by virtue of beating SF in the tiebreaker. That may not be a possibility for much longer, of course. But could still go 1-1 and get in if everything goes right. Yes, you have that correct, but the Giants surging ahead late in this game against the Padres will obviously negate that scenario if the score holds.
  2. The Giants’ Wilmer Flores hit a 3-run home run off of Drew Pomeranz who hadn’t given up a single run all season. Giants take a 5-3 lead late in the game, and that is bad news for the Brewers playoff hopes.
  3. Well at least the Padres have come back to take a 3-1 lead on the Giants in the second game of their double header. Moose with two home runs this evening, looks like the Reds are going to clinch a playoff spot tonight. Edit: Now down to a 3-2 lead for the Padres and Dinelson Lamet appears to be leaving with an injury.
  4. The margin for error has now shrunk to nonexistent. To have a chance to get in the playoffs the Brewers will have to win their final two games.
  5. He has a .455 BABIP against this year, something tells me that will improve.
  6. Look, I’m not ready to pull the rip cord every time something doesn’t go well. I can show you comments from posters last April that were ready to be done with Brandon Woodruff as a starting pitcher. I get that the definition of the IGT is to be reactionary to what’s occurring, I do it plenty as well. I also think lets maybe wait a little bit before we make every definitive judgement.
  7. Well if he’s had three bad outings they should probably cut him I guess. Corbin Burnes gave up 11 home runs in his first four outings (17 innings) last season, I can’t believe the held onto him either.
  8. He's not this bad, but I don't really see the upside that others see, either. This isn't Josh Hader stuff. I’m not saying he’s Josh Hader (or ever will be) by any stretch, but I think he can been an okay backend starter or middle reliever. That isn’t exciting, but it also doesn’t deserve being called “garbage”.
  9. I don’t think Lauer is quite as terrible as everyone is making him out to be here.
  10. I’m really curious to see this Lauer outing. He looked so great in that bullpen appearance against the Cubs, but was exiled to Camp Appleton after the failed stint as a starter.
  11. Giants held on. The slim hope of the Brewers backing into the playoffs with just one more win just went to almost non-existent.
  12. This team cannot afford to spend that kind of money on him imo. Maybe 2-3?? Well they need to spend $4 million to buy him out regardless, so I think Cool Hand Lucroy was suggesting that total would include the buyout $.
  13. Well the Giants entered the final inning (7th) of the first game of their double header against the Padres winning 5-1. They are imploding and it’s now 5-3 with no outs and runners at the corners. Edit: Now 5-4 with one out.
  14. Coshun analysis: “Gotta comeback if they’re going to win this one.”
  15. This would be a good inning for some offense, including run(s).
  16. There were rumors that Brian Goodwin was the hitter they almost added at the deadline before losing out to the Reds. He’s been a -0.3 WAR player in the three weeks since joining the Reds, would’ve fit in well with that group.
  17. I knew it wasn’t many, but for some reason I thought Garcia had more than two home runs this year. That’s really disappointing for a guy that looks like he should be able to hit them.
  18. If you end up right about that I’m buying everyone here a (virtual) beer!
  19. I’ve been annoyed by that since the day it was announced.
  20. I think it might be too late anyway. Yeah, already down three runs leaves me sort of torn whether or not to just save the bullpen for the next two nights which will obviously be must win if this game doesn’t turnaround. Looks like we have our answer with Claudio coming in now.
  21. Did Rock just say of coming back from the three run deficit, “if any team can do it, the Brewers can.”
  22. Ponce de Leon has been walking 6.1 per 9 innings this year. Would be good to see a patient approach from the Brewers hitters against him.
