  1. It seems a bit strange that Urias is wearing a mask in the field when he isn’t far removed from having COVID and should have immunity for at least another month.
  2. So if Hader can’t go multiple innings anymore, could they at least use Williams in that sort of role going forward?
  3. Yes, I was fascinated with them. Must be RALLY PIGEONS brought in for Craigtember!
  4. Schreiber’s first 5 pitches (to Garcia) were all outside of the strike zone.
  5. RE: Sogard... You should be able to throw a dart at a randomly generated list of Double-A and Triple-A hitters and the odds of landing on one that you could plug into your lineup that would out produce that line over 200 plate appearances is pretty high.
  6. I appreciate you confirming that he stinks. I had to look it up because I was wondering if it wasn’t as bad as I was remembering... It was even worse.
  7. Eric Sogard has been “worth” -1.2 fWAR over just 211 plate appearances in his stints with the Brewers during the 2018 and 2020 seasons. Over those two seasons with the Brewers he is now just 28-for-183 (.153 BA) with just 5 doubles, 0 triples, and 1 home run.
  8. Adrian Houser: Batter (Tigers) vs Pitching Stats Spencer Turnbull: Batter (Brewers) vs Pitching Stats
  9. I actually believe Bauer when he says he’s planning to sign all one year deals since he’s talked about it for quite awhile now. I do think a longer term contract that’s laden with player opt outs (similar to Castellanos deal with Reds) may also be something that entices him to forego the straight one year deal plan.
  10. Really sucks. It looked it when they got the glove off. Awful news for the Tigers. JaCoby Jones was having a very good year offensively.
  11. Strange they left Jace Peterson in to face Norris when they could have given Taylor a shot versus a LHP.
  12. An interesting part about tonight’s lineup platoon is that during his 5 year professional career Michael Fulmer has actually been nearly identical against both LH hitters than RH hitters (almost 1,000 PAs against each side). This year it’s even more pronounced in favor of right handed hitters (in a very small sample of under 70 PAs): 1.504 OPS for RH batters and an .819 OPS for LH batters.
  13. Via Will Sammon... Craig Counsell: Tyrone Taylor has been the best position player in Appleton since day one.
  14. Via Brewers: INF Jedd Gyorko placed on the bereavement list. RHP Trey Supak optioned to the Alternate Training Site. OF Tyrone Taylor recalled and RHP Phil Bickford selected from the Alternate Training Site.
  15. Michael Fulmer: Batter (Brewers) vs Pitching Stats
  16. Who, ironically, himself was a low-level lottery ticket (17-year-old with a .742 OPS in Rookie/A- ball) in the 2016 trade for James Shields. (Tatis signed for $700K, so he was a decent prospect when signing, but not one of the top international prospects.) It appears Israel Puello signed for $460K in 2017. Not a top international prospect, but enough of an investment to show that he was well regarded.
  17. It’s straight out of the Astros playbook. It doesn’t always work out, but when it does you can land 19 year old Yordan Alvarez before he’s played a game stateside in exchange for a relief pitcher (Josh Fields).
  18. Here is the Phillies farm system via FanGraphs, let the speculation begin regarding the 3 PTBNL pitchers: Top 39 Prospects: Philadelphia Phillies There is an "other prospects of note" section at the bottom of the article that includes "Young Pitching Projects".
  19. Return is reportedly 3 PTBNL. Per Matt Gelb: Phillies will trade multiple low-level pitchers to Milwaukee, all PTBNL. Could be two or three, according to sources. Phelps is a Girardi favorite. He has a $4.5 MM club option for 2021.
  20. Very interested to see this return.
  21. I will wait to see what the Marlins gave up, but Starling Marte would have been an excellent acquisition for the Brewers. Edit: Marlins sent LHP Caleb Smith to the Diamondbacks. That's pretty good value in return. An equivalent for the Brewers may have been Houser, although I think I'd prefer Smith between those two if I was the Dbacks. Smith is currently on the IL, but about to return from COVID.
