  1. Well somehow they got out of that unscathed. Please score some runs in the top half.
  2. Gamel is normally a solid defensive outfielder, but that was a really brutal effort.
  3. To put into perspective, Peralta is one year younger than Drew Rasmussen and two years younger than Devin Williams.
  4. Yeah, he truly is a wild card each appearance. He just turned 24 in June, so I remain optimistic that greater consistency will develop.
  5. For as bad as Yelich looked for so many of his early at bats, his season OPS is now up to .764 and his wRC+ is officially above average at 103.
  6. This is the closest thing to a positive comment I’ve ever seen you make about the Brewers. Try it a bit more, it can be therapeutic.
  7. Great job by Peralta to keep this one within reach. The good news is Alec Mills has been sitting a loooong time.
  8. At bats like that are such an incredibly underrated part of the game. Just makes things miserable on a pitcher, and in the case of Woodruff clearly disrupted his rhythm.
  9. I’ve watched some of the games in Buffalo where there was concern the stadium lighting wasn’t up to major league standards, and it really doesn’t look any worse than the night game lighting at Wrigley.
  10. Awesome inning with THREE HITS... sort of hard to believe they only got one run (not really).
  11. I am sure some of you saw this, but one of the better synopses of the Brewers current organizational strategy was written yesterday by Baseball Prospectus writer J.P. Breen on Twitter. J.P. Has been complimentary of Brewerfan.net in the past, so I am hopeful he’d be okay with this being added to the discussion here. I think he’s spot on with a lot his analysis:
  12. All told its eighteen up, eighteen down so far. [sarcasm]It’s exhilarating to see which team might manage a base hit first.[/sarcasm]
  13. Hoping the Brewers can start working these counts a little deeper even if they aren’t going to hit. I am starting to have déjà vu of the Kyle Hendricks start on opening day.
  14. PSA: Tomorrow’s Brewers-Cubs game has been moved from 7:15pm to 2:20pm due to the threat of inclement weather.
  15. Brandon Woodruff’s line against the Cubs hitters is somewhat confounding (granted a small sample size). He is allowing a .816 OPS, yet he has a 31.3% strikeout rate against them. He had some trouble with getting swing and miss in his first outing of the season against them this season, hoping for an improvement this time around. Tyler Chatwood on the other hand has kept the Brewers hitters quiet [insert “hasn’t everyone” joke]. For the current collection of Brewers hitters over 74 at-bats they have a .170 BA / .267 OBP / .235 SLG against Chatwood with 9 BB and just 3 extra base hits (2 doubles, 1 triple, 0 HR).
