  1. Why? CC having Narvaez go 0 for 4 in the leadoff spot has us in position to win. Well, that counterpoint is indeed indisputable.
  2. Completely hypothetical, but if Suter doesn't get hurt in August 2018, do the Brewers beat the Dodgers? I'm being serious. Dude is a really good pitcher. It would have definitely helped to have another solid LHP against them in that series.
  3. Who pitches the 8th and 9th for the Brewers? Stick with Suter for another inning or go to either Phelps or Knebel? I would chose Phelps over Knebel at this point.
  4. I will take nearly anything but an inning ending DP out of this Arica at bat. Edit: Looks like the wild pitch took care of that possibility.
  5. [sarcasm]The bum is so bad he he “whiffed” without taking the bat off his shoulder.[/sarcasm]
  6. It’s great to see Braun squaring the ball up so well today. Now hopefully the can capitalize on the leadoff double.
  7. I remain a proponent of how valuable Houser can be in relief, but also believe he deserved an opportunity to start this season until proven otherwise. At some point they need to develop some guys into starters since they obviously can’t all be multi-inning relievers.
  8. The Reds-Pirates games for both today and tomorrow have been postponed. It will be interesting to see if MLB makes the Pirates take additional precautions since they presumably played last night against the player that tested positive. They did in the case of the Phillies (after they played the Marlins), but did not do so in the case of the Twins (after they played the Cardinals). I think it’s generally considered a low probability of anyone getting infected on a mostly well distanced baseball diamond. The Reds are currently scheduled to play the Royals and Cardinals this week, while the Pirates are supposed to play the Indians before a weekend series with the Brewers beginning next Friday.
  9. It appears there is a chance of scattered thunderstorms in Chicago beginning after 4:00pm. Today would be a good day to score runs early.
  10. Freddy Peralta in a relief role this season: [pre]IP H R ER HR BB K ERA 9.0 3 0 0 0 2 19 0.00[/pre]
  11. Adrian Houser: Batter (Cubs) vs Pitching Stats Colin Rea: Batter (Brewers) vs Pitching Stats
  12. Per Ken Rosenthal: A Reds player has tested positive for COVID-19, sources tell The Athletic. Team defeated Pirates on Friday night, scheduled to host them again at 6:10 p.m. ET on Saturday. Status of that game not yet known.
  13. Per Harry Pavlidis: Devin Williams is clocking 2800 rpm on his change-up this year. Which is about 300 rpm more than anyone else
  14. Per Jon Morosi, Craig Kimbrel got 6 swinging strikes in the 9th inning. He only had 5 swinging strikes total on the season coming into tonight.
  15. I’d much rather Hader challenged Rizzo in the zone even down in the count than risk a walk and the winning run at the plate. Edit: Sigh.
