  1. Here are the most realistic headliner prospects I would be interested in if the Brewers shop Hader. By realistic, I mean the range of what I think the Brewers could get for a headliner (approximately between #25th-#50th ranked prospect) and among teams that may have interest in Hader. Alex Kirilloff, 1B/OF, Twins (#34 overall on MLB Pipeline) Nolan Jones, 3B, Indians (#46 overall on MLB Pipeline) Drew Waters, OF, Braves (#27 overall on MLB Pipeline)
  2. Brewers back to 2nd place in the NL Central. Two big series upcoming this week against the Twins and Cubs.
  3. Come on Claudio. Can’t we just end this and celebrate a win. Now Hader having to warmup.
  4. His sinker and four seamer are both at 88-mph this year, pitches he was throwing 92-mph last season. It’ll be interesting to see if his velocity bounces back at some point.
  5. I think the Reds pen is the cure for everyone's offense. For the season, Keston Hiura now has a 109 wRC+ and Christian Yelich has a 108 wRC+. Both came into today as below average hitters this season, and leave it as above average hitters in 2020. Edit: Coming into today Yelich was at 63 wRC+ and Hiura was at 81 wRC+.
  6. I know it was partially pitcher induced, but it was really nice to put up a crooked number last inning. Felt like it was a long time coming.
  7. Their bullpen is a disaster. Probably no team is better suited for the 7-inning double headers than the Reds.
  8. The Brewers have now scored more than 4 runs for just the second time in their past 8 games.
  9. Piña cashes in on Gray’s 101st pitch of the day! Sonny pulled. Need to keep it going against the bullpen and put up a big number this inning.
  10. Surprised Gray is back out for the 6th. He hasn’t been great today, despite the lack of Brewers runs.
  11. We ragged on Hiura yesterday (myself included), so I’ll give him some credit for two solid defensive plays that inning.
  12. A 30-pitch 1st inning for Woodruff. What inning do we think Sonny Gray will hit his 30th pitch of the day? Bit of a rough start, but at least it’s only 1-0.
  13. With the shaky defense displayed in this series he might need a perfect game with 15+ Ks.
  14. Looking at the previous pitcher versus hitter results in this matchup... Both Logan Morrison and Justin Smoak have nearly identical batting lines against Sonny Gray. Both are 7-for-33. Both have one double. Smoak has a home run. They’ve combined for 22 strikeouts (9 for Morrison, 13 for Smoak). The current active players on the Brewers roster have 134 career at bats against Sonny Gray, and their line is .210 BA / .272 OBP / .272 SLG for a .545 OPS. Brandon Woodruff comes in allowing a 1.006 OPS against the current collection of Reds hitters, but that is just 45 total at bats. The two primary culprits to Woodruff’s rough numbers are Joey Votto (6-for-9, 2 HRs) and Jesse Winker (4-for-7, 2B).
  15. Brandon Woodruff: Batter (Reds) vs Pitching Stats Sonny Gray: Batter (Brewers) vs Pitching Stats
  16. Per Jeff Passan, the Pirates Sunday night flight to St. Louis has reportedly been cancelled, and at the very least the Cardinals-Pirates won’t play on Monday as scheduled. No word yet on if the entire series will be postponed.
  17. They basically piggyback everyone except Woodruff and Houser, so not really sure it makes much of a difference. Seems like they’ve basically wasted a great outing from Burnes. Admittedly it wasn’t necessarily Anderson’s fault, the fielding cost him dearly in the 1st inning.
  18. I wasn’t one to advocate for this off-season being my favorite by any stretch (I was frustrated with the lack of true solutions at 3B while piling up below average depth pieces, and I was shocked Logan Morrison was actually part of their plans), but you also have to sometimes put yourself out there and suggest what you would have done differently. Turborickey, a lot of people advocated for the Brewers making a play for Castellanos, and you were against that because his track record wasn’t long enough for you. What moves (that wouldn’t have cost $200+ million) did you think the Brewers should have made this past offseason? Not trying to come at you, just genuinely curious.
  19. [sarcasm]The 7-1 Marlins clearly stole all of our good players![/sarcasm]
  20. When this version of Corbin Burnes begins showing up consistently someday he is going to become a mainstay in the rotation.
  21. The weakness of this Reds team is their bullpen. DeSclafani just threw a 7-pitch 5th inning and is now at just 68 for the game.
  22. If the Brewers do comeback to win this game, that Burnes strikeout of Castellanos will be a turning point.
