  1. Is it just me, or have there been a lot of late timeout calls from opponents lately?
  2. I’ve remained skeptical it’s how they were actually going to use him because they’ve been in so few close games, but I’m starting to worry slightly that Hader really is a single inning, save situation only guy.
  3. Hiura and Yelich are a combined 0-6 tonight. Going to need at least one of them to break through in the 8th inning.
  4. I wish the Brewers offense would have shown this sort of late game resurgence when either Burnes or Peralta were mowing down hitters in long relief.
  5. Don’t want to DH your catcher .......if you have an injury you lose the DH. With 28 man rosters I think you take you can take your chances navigating through the unlikely scenario you lose your DH for a single game.
  6. I think Piña has indeed earned more playing time. Use the DH on Narvaez against RHP.
  7. So maybe Garcia should have early hitting practice everyday? Looks good at the plate tonight.
  8. Braun will serve as the DH tonight. Through 15 games here are the players that have served as Brewers’ DH (including number of times)... Logan Morrison (4) Ryan Braun (4) Keston Hiura (2) Ryon Healy (2) Avisail Garcia (1) Justin Smoak (1) Christian Yelich (1)
  9. In the Twins last bullpen game, a 3-1 win over Cleveland, they used the following 6 bullpen pitchers: [pre]PITCHERS IP T. Clippard 2.0 D. Smeltzer 2.2 M. Wisler 1.1 T. Duffey 1.0 T. May 1.0 S. Romo 1.0[/pre] The last three of those pitchers threw in last night’s game, here is how the Brewers hitters have fared against the first three... Tyler Clippard (Batter vs. Pitcher) Devin Smeltzer (Batter vs. Pitcher) Matt Wisler (Batter vs. Pitcher)
  10. Well apparently MLB is now looking at bubble formats (with 2-3 hubs) for the postseason... Sources: MLB has preliminary talks about bubble-type format for playoffs The article mentions that the Midwest hub could include three ballparks: Wrigley Field, Guaranteed Rate Field, and Miller Park.
  11. In two of the past three games the Brewers have gotten 9.1 IP combined out of Burnes and Peralta in relief, allowing just 1 earned run and striking out 16.
  12. Paul Molitor and Carlos Gomez are the low hanging fruit. Corey Koskie Getting Livan Hernandez was the one I was most proud of.
  13. Might be getting Hiura a first baseman’s mitt before the season’s over. Smoak gives me Travis Shaw 2019 flashbacks.
  14. It was just a fly out to left in the scorebook, but the swings from Yelich are looking much, much better than they did a week ago.
  15. Urias made a nice tag on the steal attempt, if you haven’t seen this great tag he made with the Padres you should check it out.
  16. Good infield defense is fun to watch. Excited for Urias’ future, a lot of his value (when at 2B) will come from his defense.
  17. That’s the most difficult thing we won’t ever fully know. Let’s use 2016 4th round pick Shane Bieber as an example. Would Bieber be the pitcher he is right now if he hadn’t come through the Indians system? It would be fascinating if we were able to know how his development would’ve played out differently in other systems.
  18. Batting 7th and playing 2B tonight.
  19. Luis Urías gets the start at 2B tonight. I know he’s already played parts of two seasons in MLB, but I’m very excited for his Brewers’ debut. Hoping Urías can develop into the talented player with a high OBP that he was in the minors. This lineup could really use that profile for the years to come.
  20. Urías reinstated; Crew designates Morrison The Brewers reinstated infielder Luis Urías from the injured list and designated first baseman Logan Morrison for assignment on Monday. Urías, who didn’t get to play games in Spring Training because he was healing from left hand surgery, missed all of Summer Camp due to an asymptomatic case of COVID-19. He returned to the Brewers’ alternate training site in Appleton, Wis., on July 24. Morrison, who was signed in January, played in nine games, batting .120/.214/.280 with one homer and two RBIs.
