  1. Thanks. I understand a throw being live, but it seems strange for a batted ball. Regardless, it worked out great in this instance.
  2. On a bounce though? I don’t know definitively, but I have a hard time imagining a batted ball is live after bouncing off the side netting?
  3. That should have been a ground rule double. It hit the side netting which should have been considered out of play.
  4. Well the Reds lost 13-0 and the Cubs are losing 11-0 to the Royals, so at least the NL Central foes are getting pounded tonight.
  5. There is still a sentiment (assumption) nationally that the Brewers have below average starting pitching. I look forward to this group continuing to develop and prove people wrong in the coming years.
  6. [sarcasm]Well maybe it’s the perfect roster for this situation because the Brewers are currently in position for the #13 overall draft pick while at the same time the #6 seed in the NL playoff picture by virtue of being in 2nd place in the NL Central.[/sarcasm]
  7. Josh Lindblom: Batter (White Sox) vs Pitching Stats Gio González: Batter (Brewers) vs Pitching Stats
  8. Excited to see Lauer is getting the start on Friday versus the Reds. Would love to see the Brewers defeat Trevor Bauer with Lauer on the mound.
  9. Brewers facing Gio tomorrow with a chance to even the series and their season record.
  10. I know it’s risky, but I originally thought they might have Narvaez DH a couple of times a week so Piña could catch more games.
  11. In other news, the Pirates might have the #1 pick in the 2021 MLB Draft secured soon. They fall to 2-10 tonight. Facing Kumar Rocker in the NL Central in the mid 2020’s may not be fun (although the Pirates do have a knack for screwing up pitching development).
  12. That has been one of the more baffling developments this year. Counsell did say he was being careful with his usage because it being early in the season, but I don’t like him being tied to the 9th.
  13. Here he is in Appleton yesterday. Surprised they haven’t called on him, I guess the fact Mathias can play more positions (including OF) might have been the reason they went with him for the recent call up.
  14. GREAT outing from Houser. Likely need the bullpen to lock it down for two innings.
  15. No one is saying that at all. I think most of us, myself included were in favor of that deal. However, I also loved Grisham, and obviously the Padres did as well, very much, since the general concensus at the time was that they took a lot less value in that deal. However, it has been far more than a week since something has seemed to "click" with Grisham. It's certainly starting to look possible that he could become a special player. If that happens, it indeed would be a really tough loss for our future outfield especially having watched his development through our system over the years and seeing how far he's come in the last year. Pretty much exactly this. Well said.
  16. In honor of this lineup I am pulling from the back of the beer fridge tonight, taking a chance on the stuff that’s been passed over for awhile.
  17. Houser at just 42 pitches through 4 innings. It’s sort of fun to be on this side of having a pitcher working so efficiently.
  18. One irony of Ryon Healy batting lead-off is he’s one of the few hitters on the current roster that has struggled against Dallas Keuchel for his career (4-22, no extra base hits, 8 strikeouts).
  19. If anyone is looking for a bit of hope going into tonight, the Brewers’ current active roster has a .319 AVG / .333 OBP / .511 SLG / .844 OPS line against Dallas Keuchel in 107 at bats. Avisail Garcia has had the most at bats against him (8-for-23).
