  1. I’m all for giving Miguel Sanchez a chance this season. Seems to have good movement on his pitches.
  2. I switched to the Triple-A game for a respite and Keston Hiura promptly airmailed a throw to first base to allow the tying run to score.
  3. I’m surprised they didn’t use Claudio against this long string of lefties. Disappointing seeing Wilson getting hit so hard.
  4. I was wondering if it was as bad as it looked on Gameday. Yeah, Yelich was pissed. He stepped out of the box in the middle of the at bat to complain to the umpire about it. It was awful.
  5. That strike two call to Yelich might qualify has the worst called strike of the season thus far.
  6. Corbin Burnes xFIP on the season is at 1.94 after his outing tonight. Actual FIP is 8.40. Hopefully xFIP is on to something.
  7. Brewers still got 4 innings to chip away. This is an offense that can score runs in bunches too. The Cubs bullpen has given up 37 runs in 29.1 innings. There's still a chance for sure.
  8. From Adam McCalvy: “Corbin Burnes is the first Brewers pitcher to allow at least three home runs in consecutive games since Jason Bere in 2000. There's a blast from the past for you.”
  9. He gave up 11 home runs in 260.0 innings pitched in the minors. Seven of those were while pitching for Colorado Springs.
  10. Runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs and it feels possible they may not score a run here.
  11. Grandal has historically been a streaky hitter, hoping he is on the cusp of a serious hot streak. He is now 7-for-12 over the past four games.
  12. Disappointing to give up the 2-run HR to Heyward, but thankfully there are eight more frames hitting against this Cubs pitching.
  13. Baez with his 5th strikeout in his 5 ABs during this series. Wouldn’t hate seeing that trend continue.
  14. Cain leading off with an oppo home run is a great start to this totally non-rivalry game versus Hamels.
  15. Ryan Braun in his career versus Cole Hamels: 13-for-40, 3 HR, .916 OPS

  17. Glad to see Grandal with some nice at-bats in the past few games. He has six hits in his last three games played.
  18. The Brewers 7-1 record and .875 winning percentage are both top in all of baseball. Never mind that it represents less than 1/20th of the season, it’s a great start!
  19. It seems like I am in the minority on this, but I love that they changed the camera angle. Pitch movement is much more pronounced with the straight on angle. They changed it before last season I believe.
  20. So plenty has been made of Joe Maddon’s lame duck contract status this year, but he may not make the All-Star break at this rate.
