  1. Just saw the Schoop quote that Tom Haudricourt shared tonight via Twitter... That is sort of what was speculated on in last night’s IGT. I really hope he can just take a deep breath, relax a little, and have some fun. I think getting his first hit will ultimately help.
  2. Because the lineup now appears best equipped to mash righties I decided to take a look at the handedness of the starters among the remaining opponents on the Brewers schedule. With 50 games remaining (counting tonight) my approximation is the Brewers will face approximately 34 right handed starters and 16 left handed starters. Below are the remaining opponents and the current make-up of those team’s starting rotations. Colorado (3 games remaining) - Facing 2 RHP, 1 LHP starters San Diego (3 games remaining) - Have 1 RHP, 3 LHP in current rotation Atlanta (3 games remaining) - 4 RHP, 1 LHP in current rotation Chicago Cubs (8 games remaining) - 1 RHP, 4 LHP in current rotation St. Louis (6 games remaining) - 4 RHP, 1 LHP in current rotation Pittsburgh (9 games remaining) - 5 RHP, 0 LHP in current rotation Cincinnati (9 games remaining) - 5 RHP, 0 LHP in current rotation Washington (3 games remaining) - 3 RHP, 2 LHP in current rotation San Francisco (3 games remaining) - 2 RHP, 3 LHP in current rotation Detroit (3 games remaining) - 2 RHP, 3 LHP in current rotation
  3. I can’t imagine a pitcher ever throwing Schoop a pitch in the strike zone. That would seemingly be a huge mistake.

  5. Well tonight is going to be a run differential killer.
  6. Counting tonight Matt Albers has given up 13 earned runs in his last 2.0 innings pitched. Obviously doesn’t even included the inherited runners.
  7. With Albers pitching home run derby and two position players likely up next this game might last 4 hours. Not exactly the getaway game they needed. Edit: Hopefully Williams can get some outs now.
  8. While I am sure he doesn’t want to come across as overreacting, but I really hope Counsell moves him down to #6 spot this weekend.
  9. [sarcasm]Open base with Bellinger up. Maybe put him on the old fashioned way?[/sarcasm]
  10. I don’t think it would be the worst idea to just get Schoop out of there and just give him a fresh start tomorrow. I think that’s 6 Ks in his first 8 PAs now? Small sample, but also terrible plate discipline so far.
  11. At this point I think it is fair to hope the game speed picks up so they can get back to Milwaukee before 6:00am tomorrow. Will be interesting to see if they look lethargic tomorrow night.
  12. Has there ever been a Brewers trade acquisition with a more disappointing first game and half than Jonathan Schoop? You could argue he was a big negative contributor last night, and obviously has been a disaster so far tonight. Hope he turns it around in a hurry.
  13. And that’s your West Bend Silver Lining of the game.
  14. Now Chacin gets squeezed ridiculously. Feels like this game is at the tipping point already.
  15. Also, not trying to insinuate they should have acquired him instead, but it was somewhat ironic seeing Dozier make the most of his opportunity yesterday.
  16. I don’t know if it is affecting his play, but I did see reports that he did not want to be traded. He was also on the verge of thinking he had made it past the deadline when he got the news.
  17. Well the Brewers have become discombobulated now. So disappointing.
  18. [sarcasm]Maybe he was cursed when he took Villar’s old number.[/sarcasm]
  19. Well that was a disappointing inning that may come back to haunt them tonight. I hate piling on the new guy, but he has really hurt them by giving awful at-bats in the #4 spot in the order.
  20. Schoop is swinging at some pitches not very close to the strike zone.
  21. Yes that is true. Coming into tonight only four Brewers players on the current 25-man roster have hits against Kershaw (Braun, Yelich, Cain, Kratz).
