  1. Yeah, I definitely think you should play for the double play in that situation since you’ll have the extra runner in the bottom of the inning.
  2. It’s an absolutely awful way to lose. I guess if you’re going to pick any one team to lose to it’s probably the Giants, since them winning the NL West is likely the best scenario for the Brewers World Series chances.
  3. Makes sense. Unless something's bugging Narvaez or they really value Pina on defense woth a runner on 2nd. Well, it doesn’t really matter now I suppose.
  4. I'm guessing they PR for Pina amd PH with Narvaez leading off in the 10th. I don’t think you waste a pinch runner when you can just double switch and get Cain on 2B since he was the previous batter before Piña’s spot.
  5. Need to do a double switch with Piña for the bottom of the inning in order to be able to get Cain as the extra runner in the 10th inning.
  6. Curtiss Time. Last time the Brewers acquired a former Texas Longhorns pitcher to be a reliever it worked out pretty well, hopefully this goes as well.
  7. From Will Sammon: Brewers will activate Christian Yelich today but won’t be in the lineup, Counsell said. He’s available, though.

  9. This doesn’t even include Rowdy’s performance last night…
  10. Brewers hitters don’t have a lot of experience facing Aaron Sanchez, but the two with the most success against him have been Willy Adames (3-for-7) and Jackie Bradley Jr. (5-for-21, 2B, HR). Sanchez just recently returned from a biceps injury that had kept him out of action since early May. In his two appearances since returning he’s pitched 5.0 total innings, throwing 36 pitches in his first outing and 59 pitches in his second.

  12. He’s done everything he can with what he has to work with, but it’s going to get a lot tougher with 10 games in 10 days and only 4 starters available for now. Boxberger has been used in all 4 of the wins this week and Williams has been in 3. They can’t be doing that every day, so the offense is going to have to produce more. Hopefully they can do that against the Cubs and Pirates, and somebody in the bullpen other than Suter, Williams, and Boxberger can fill some innings. Presumably both Strickland and Cousins will return in a few days (hopefully by the middle of next week at the latest).
  13. He’s under team control through 2024 (so three more years after this season). Same timeline for Adames, 3.5 years of team control.
  14. Rowdy is so fun to root for. Nice to beat a good team on a night where the bats were held mostly quiet.
  15. Fair enough, it probably helps a bit that the Giants hitters haven’t faced him much as well.
  16. I know there aren’t exactly better options, but Brent Suter [who I like!] just doesn’t seem like a good option in these runner starts on 2B extra inning situations.
