Well at least Garcia isn’t a bad extra runner to have on 2B in the 10th. -
Leone has given up just 1 total hit over his last 7 appearances (6.1 IP), but he does walk some guys (including 5 BB over that same span).

From Adam McCalvy: For those asking why the Brewers wouldn't activate Yelich from the COVID-IL since he's eligible: He went 10 days without picking up a bat. Given the back issues earlier this year, they feel it is best to run him through several days of BP before he plays a game.

Christian Yelich is on the field warming up with the team right now according to McCalvy, but no announcement of his activation has been made yet.

Logan Webb has been fantastic for the Giants this season, much of which is due to the increased development and usage of his changeup which is very good. The good news for the Brewers is he has been tougher on righties (.574 OPS) than lefty batters (.720 OPS), and he has been much better at home (1.85 ERA, .567 OPS) than on the road (4.62 ERA, .706 OPS) this season. Corbin Burnes has had limited appearances against these Giants hitters, only one of them has more than one hit against him. That hitter is Buster Posey who is 4-for-4 against Burnes (all singles). In case you were wondering, Kris Bryant is 0-for-6 with 3 strikeouts against Burnes. ___________________________________

I’m just suggesting to give it a couple of weeks before we come to any definitive conclusions about guys they traded for four days ago. They might be awful, they might be great, or they might be somewhere in between. In 2019, Drew Pomeranz gave up earned runs in 3 of his first 5 appearances with the Brewers, and then gave up just 3 total earned runs over his next 20 appearances. All I am saying is let’s reconvene in a few weeks and determine how helpful the deadline acquisitions were.

Seems a little premature to make any determination about how good or bad they’re going to be for the Brewers. Is it? I mean Norris wasn't all that good to begin with and period of time that he was "better" wasn't enough to say is actually better than he had been. Curtiss really didn't have all that much of a track record. They needed to do better and didn't. Yep, it is. At this point I think the organization has earned the benefit of the doubt when it comes to working with pitchers to maximize pitch design and pitch mix, usage, and sequencing.

Well at least the Reds blew their lead in the 9th. From up 5–4 to down 7-5. I can’t believe Hembree is their “closer.”
