  1. During a rain storm, if your HD channel goes out, switch over to the analog channel, since they are on different satallites the analog sometimes works when the HD ones do not. Another tip, if you want a HD DVR from DTV but only have one line run to where you want it, ask for a SWM8 switch. It allows you to only have to run one line to the box. I have two HD DVRs and another HD box and with the SWM8 only have one line run to each.
  2. At this point both Hall and Branyan have to be staring holes into the back of Ned's head.
  3. The problem is that 2/3 of a year Rickie is bad and 1/3 of the year is decent in the last couple years.
  4. Because they have won 5 straight there isn't alot to complain about so we have to make up controversy.
  5. Back to moth balls for you Rivera and Weeks and Counsel both continue to cling tightly the pics of Ned.
  6. What color do you use when you have a sarcastic statement with a pun in it? "Maybe Estrada could then come back when rosters(Johnny's gut) expand"
  7. Like BTA said it is most likely a muscle strain. I have gotten them a couple times and they are horrible. Its mostly a dull ache but if you move just right it is like someone just kicked you in the side or you got stabbed. It bends you over.
  8. I see no reason to bring any of the young guys up, especially with the clocks starting on them. I would only expect guys with MLB experience to get called up. Nix has been playing well enough to have possibly gotten a call up but with Gibbons now there his chances are slim.
  9. It would be referred to as a Lavender Marriage.
  10. That is an up surd comment. Yes you can hide a player at first or even in left field, but to say anyone can play the position is flat out wrong. Its take alot of practice, just like catching, to know how and what to do with throws. You can even look at the simplest forms and look at softball. There is a big difference in teams that have a good 1st basemen vs ones that just put any one there. Again fielding isnt the problem, it is catching, staying on the bag, keeping the ball in front of you. You can the 2nd catcher on the team except that you don't have the equipment to protect you from balls being thrown just as hard.
  11. There isnt a defender on this team that would rather have Fielder then Lee manning first. You also have to put wild throws that a first baseman comes off the bag for. That is one of Prince's biggest problems, once he is set it is hard for him to get out of his motion(see below) to go and get a wild throw. Like I said before, I would say fielding for 1st is over rated, especially with a good 2nd basemen behind you. Being able to save errors by players is what is important. Not only catching the ball but like a catcher keeping a bad throw in front of you to avoid advancement. If you are wondering what I mean by motion, every time you are waiting for a throw(especially a closer play) you put you body into motion ala Geoff Jenkins leg kick while batting. You are lounging forward and have to be able to adjust into the splits(which I can still do at 30 toot toot) while at the same time judging the path of the throw. Not all guys throw laser beams like Hardy or Furcal. Guys that throw side arm(see Weeks), the ball tends to tail or curve. They are hard to catch.
  12. My wife insists that I would leave her if Jamie Pressley, and of course she is right. To be fair I said I would leave her for Ryan Braun to, although the dual conversion for me would be tough. I did say I would not stand in her way at all if she left me for Branyan. I even said I would proudly wear a "My wife left me for Russell Branyan shirt" For the over 18 crowd I have always had a thing for "actress" Allie Sinn(Google NSFW). Or Christina Model would be up there, again make sure no children, wife or boss's are around.
  13. As someone who has played the position for 20 years I can tell you that it is very underrated. Digging and stretching come into play more then fielding does. If you are good at digging and having the ability to stretch will save more runs then your ability to field ground balls. I am not devaluing fielding in general just when it compares to digging and stretching for a 1st baseman.
  14. Dan Davis on Espn radio today described the Brewers as fading after yesterdays loss, I thought that was odd for a team that won 2 of 3. I guess he knew something we didnt.
  15. I have always wondered the same thing. People always mention the Santana possibility but I only remember being speculation from a media source or was made proposals from people on this board that was repeated so many times that they became fact. The only other trade I remember was the one from the Tigers for the big time pitcher that went to the Yankees and then blew out his arm the next year.
  16. I can handle this one ACU's rapidly cool the air and extract the excess water that accumulates in the air as it cools. Beyond that it is just one of those things, or for BTA "it is what it is."
  17. well you know it's all fun and games till.....
  18. well that 3-4 is alot better then what either of the other two have produced lately.
  19. well since both have been horrible at the plate and Hart just as bad in the field as of late it would be nice to at least halve the problems and put the guy in that has at least done something positive lately. Leg humping comment would apply to Rivera also to some extent.
  20. Actaully if I remember correctly Pete was a project head for the CIA or a similar company and left to start the Phoenix foundation and brought Mac along with him.
  21. Other then the fact that Kendell is running on fumes, Cameron hitting like he is swinging with a mini bat, Hart's baseball IQ is around 1 the last couple weeks and Kapler is hitting the cover off the ball, nope no problem at all.
  22. Or beaten severely on several different occasions. -Speaking of Step by Step there is always the non existant theme park that is shown in the begining. - Seven from Married with Children went upstairs and never came down. Explanation was never given on purpose for humor purposes.
  23. who's leg does Kapler have to hump to get more playing time?
  24. 14.) Not having to worry about putting the toliet seat down. Sounds stupid, but just wait single guys you are in for years of "Why can't you put the toliet seat down?!?". After kids it gets even worse. A little advice, if possible, have your own bathroom.
  25. I like what the Pirates have done in this deal. They are just stocking up on good talent, would have rather had Kemp if I were them but oh well.
