  1. If LaPorta's OPS is north of 1.200, he'd be useful, pretty much regardless of any reasonable output of the ML guys.
  2. I dunno. they're up against the Casper Ghosts.
  3. yes. how many times has the guy been released? He's not Steve Carlton.
  4. the quote said 25 man roster. Weeks was on the 40 man roster in that Sept.
  5. I'd assume he'd at least share time with Pie, who actually could be sent down for a few months.
  6. It's too early to say there is no ST market for bush/cappy/vargas. I wouldn't have expected anything for a couple more weeks. Teams have to figure out if the crappy pitchers on their roster are really crappy or not, and it's too early to do that. Also, injuries happen.
  7. A few more 5 inning shutouts from Vargas and someone will come shopping. I think you'd sell, but it's open for discussion.
  8. Doesn't turnbow only have two pitches?
  9. I predict it might be a big discussion around the middle of July.
  10. When did Michael Brantley become a 3B, because the article indicates he's an OF/3b rather than OF/1B. Misprint?
  11. I definitely don't get it about Turnbow. He's usually good for some drama (strikeouts or earned runs), which probably polarizes people.
  12. our guys should know better than try to run on nelson cruz's arm. I think that's the second brewer he threw out this spring.
  13. we better hope he does ok, otherwise choate? stetter? capuano?????
  14. shousie is pitching some fine batting practice. 3 straight hits.
  15. "completely ignored the results of spring training" might be a bit extreme. I think you can ignore the first week or two. The rest means something, maybe not much, but something.
  16. nix and gross have some power, and rottino and munson a little, but the rest blows.
  17. I think sbrylski is half right. the numbers don't really matter, but if cappy doesn't have command and his stuff has deteriorated, that's when they could pull the plug.
  18. kendall, followed by nunez, followed by counsell. that's a real murderer's row. hope we don't see that during the season.
  19. I hope kendall can keep this up. If he hit .300, it would be HUGE!
  20. gameday is up again. villy was lucky he had nix's arm in rf. that was the second out. the third followed promptly.
  21. anyone know what happened in the top of 6th? MLB gameday is stuck with one out and two men on and kinsler batting.
  22. chorizo, I think at this time of ST, every team thinks they have guys to take the #4 and #5 rotation positions. By the end of ST, some will have lost confidence in that, or have injuries. That's when something might happen. Hopefully to get something in return more than brady clark.
  23. rangers seem to be practicing wild pitches today
