  1. Great game guys. Way to take advantage of the schedule. Please Doug be a seller and not a buyer; this team just isnt good enough.
  2. Capps is classless. We really had a chance to shut him up and couldnt do it. Hopefully we can shut them down and score in the 10th but with our bottom of the lineup its not likely.
  3. Ive never heard of this Jones guy before this series but he looks like some hitter. Maybe its just our pitching but he really looks good.
  4. Obviously I meant verbally but good one. Nice job by Coffey getting out of the inning.
  5. Im not gonna kill Coffey if he gives it up here. Due to our awful starting pitching Coffey has been abused and is gonna tire out sooner or later.
  6. Hanrahan smoked that one. We are lucky to still be tied. What an awful pitching staff this is.
  7. McClung will never be a pitcher that you can really count on. He walks far too many guys and throws tons of pitches. Hopefully we can sneak this game out despite this awful pitching.
  8. Suppan followed by McClung is not exactly a recipe for success.
  9. Obviously this team could use Halladay (what team couldnt) but we are more than one pitcher away from being a championship level team.
  10. So this team is possibly on the verge of losing 2 out of 3 to pittsburgh after splitting four games with the reds and Melvin is considering trading away the future for Halladay? Im sorry but this team is just not good enough.
  11. How about Melvin comes to his senses and realizes that this team is not one pitcher away from a championship. Trading Gamel or Escobar would be extremely shortsighted.
  12. He isnt in the lineup and mlbtraderumors.com says he was traded to the Red Sox. It still doesnt say what Pittsburgh got back in return.
  13. He isnt in the lineup and mlbtraderumors.com says he was traded to the Red Sox. It still doesnt say what Pittsburgh got back in return.
  14. Gamel will be the far better in my opinion. He will be a .900 OPS bat while Escobar may never be a good enough hitter. I will always choose the bat over the glove so Gamel is who I prefer.
  15. I dont want to trade either but I would trade Escobar if I had to choose.
  16. I really prefer that we dont get involved at all. This organization cant continue to make trades like this every year. We have to have a long range plan or we will be the pirates again in a few years. I understand the desperation last year to get CC and end the playoff draught but this is not a do or die season for this organization. This team is just not good enough to win a championship with or without Roy Halladay.
  17. Its funny but everytime Braun goes into a slump I suspect that he is injured. You know Ryan will play through it so you just have to hope that it is just a slump and that he isnt hurt. If he is injured he needs to tell Melvin so the team doesnt mortgage the future in a trade when they have no chance to win anyway.
  18. Under no circumstances would I trade Gamel. I dont really want to lose Parra either but I could live with Parra and Escobar going.
  19. Can McClung ever pitch an inning in under 20 pitches? As long as he is throwing as many pitches as he does he will never be efficient enough to be a viable starting pitcher. McClung is just incapable of throwing more than 4 or 5 innings tops due to his ridculously high pitch counts and thats just not gonna change.
  20. Neither Burns or McClung are good options. Burns is flat out not a major league pitcher and McClung is too wild to ever give the team more than 5 innings. Make a trade or give Cody a shot before McClung or Burns.
  21. Toronto would be nuts to take that package for Halladay. Martinez is another overhyped product in an awful Mets system and the rest of the guys are B level guys at best. If this proposal is correct the Brewers could get Halladay without Gamel or Escobar.
