Stetter has been awful the last few times so I understand him being sent down but Zach Jackson? Cant say Im too happy about seeing him up with the club. While we are sending down guys how about Gwynn to AAA and Branyan up to Milwaukee.

Can we please send Gwynn down to the minors. He is awful.

Speaking of paying for a top flight pitcher I hear there is this guy named Sheets that can be signed long term.

Why is Yost always 3 or 4 or even 5 batters late in removing his starting pitcher?

This upcoming series in Boston could get ugly. Maybe the final nail in the Yost coffin.

Can Yost wait a little longer before he takes Sheets out? Not that it makes a difference today with our pitiful offense but Yost is a dope for leaving him out there that long.

Can we score some runs. Finally the starting pitching picks up and we cant score.

Once Gagne gets his confidence back and starts locating pitches better he will be fine. Most have his outing have gone bad due to walks and bloop hits. I really believe he can get back to being an effective closer.

Maybe Melvin will say he is not "motivated" to make a managerial change at this time.

I fully expect them to do nothing.

I may be one of the only believers in Gagne but I think he can be straightened out. He just needs to get his confidence back. This is not a Turnbow situation where he cant get a pitch anywhere near the strike zone. He has had issues with location but nothing like Turnbow. He has also had some bad luck with bloop hits and such. This is not a DFA situation at all. Gagne will get straightened out and will be the closer again.

Why is Branyan called 3TO?

We better get rid of Yost soon before the season cant be saved. With LA coming in this week followed by a long road trip starting in Boston it could get real ugly fast.

If only gamel could learn to play defense at third base we would be set.

I am not in favor of getting rid of Melvin but if he is too stubborn to fire Yost then I really question whether he should stay on as GM..

So do we need Cincy to pass us as well before this clown gets the hook?

Jason Isringhausen did the same thing yesterday with the Cardinals. He said that he wasnt good enough right now to be the closer. I totally respect both Gagne and Isringhausen for their honesty. I actually think that Gagne has had a lot of bad luck and should be taken out of the role temporarily until he gets his confidence back. I still think he can get the job done once he does get it back.

I think its time we really started looking closer at Doug Melvin as well as Yost. Lets say this team continues to flounder and finishes below .500 for the season. At that point do we let Melvin keep his job as GM or do we hand over the reigns to Jack Z who deserves a GM gig? To me it comes down to a few factors the biggest being Melvin's stubbornness in regards to his manager. I am sure that both Melvin and the owner expect this team to compete for a division title. I believe that Doug is a good baseball man who understands what it takes to win since he did make the playoffs in Texas several times. That is why i find it incredible that he wouldnt see by now that Ned is not the right man for this job. After last year's collapse and this years team underachieving again either the talent is just not good enough which I dont think is the case or they are not being led by the right manager. Young teams are supposed to improve but this team makes the same fundamental mistakes every game and the team looks like it is regressing. If Melvin cant see this I really wonder if he is the right GM to lead the Brewers to a World Series championship. I also question whether Melvin can put together a good enough pitching staff to win a championship. I still remember his Texas teams starting John Burkett in the first game of a playoff series. Yet he doesn't seem to have any interest in signing Sheets long term despite the fact that a number one pitcher is the hardest commodity in baseball to find. Do we really want a rotation next season of Gallardo, Suppan, Villy, Parra, and Bush, and does Melvin actually believe that this is good enough to make the playoffs with? In summation I am really starting to question Melvin in regards to his stubbornness regarding keeping Yost as well as his ability to build a playoff caliber pitching staff. What is the appeal of Melky cabrera anyway. As far as trading Sheets is concerned I just dont get it. This team has no good starting pitching other than Sheets and Gallardo. Sheets is an ace and a guy we need to keep and build around. We will never be able to sign an ace as a free agent. Look what we paid for Suppan who is nothing more than a 5th starter. Sign Sheets and build around him and Gallardo and we can compete for years to come. As far as Fielder is concerned we have him for 3 more years after this so there is no reason to trade him either.

I have to admit that I have started feeling this way myself. The last thing this team needs is to hang around the periphery of the playoff race without any real shot at making it giving Melvin another reason to keep Yost. We really might just be better off tanking it the next few weeks and starting over with a new manager. I just dont see any way this team ever makes the playoffs with this dope as manager.

Showalter is an out and out dictator that the players turn on relatively quickly. He is clearly an old school no nonsense kind of guy but not the type of personality we need. Davey Johnson would be the best guy to get since he is a brilliant handler of young players and specifically young pitchers. I think he would love to manage a team with the kind of talent we have and would get the most out of it. If Davey said no I would hire Kremblas who the young players all love and would give every ounce of effort that they can for.

Does Ted Simmons really have the personality to be manager? Lets remember he had to give up his GM gig due to health issues. Does he really need or want the responsibility of turning around this group of underachievers. I also agree its time to get someone without a connection to the 80s Brewers. Yes those were great times, the greatest in Brewers history but the fans deserve to have a winning team this century. Kremblas would be a solid start if we cant get an experienced winner like Davey Johnson.

Davey Johnson; now there is a guy with a track record that won everywhere he went. Why exactly has he been out of the game so long. He would be a fantastic guy to teach these young guys how to play. It would be a dream to get this guy as manager and depending on his situation I think he would love to have a team with this kind of talent to mold into champions.

Only Haudricourt can compare Yost to Hurdle, Leyland, and Black. Ned Yost has never won anything. Enough with the media backing this clown up. If he had any track record whatsoever maybe someone could say to give him more time but he has had 6 yrs and he has shown nothing. Time to go before this season completely slips away.
