  1. Does anyone worry about which reliever's arm is about the fall off next? Macha has nearly run Coffey's into the ground now since the middle of August.
  2. The Brewers are all but left for dead yet not playing Escobar and Gamel continually is more than mind boggling along with watching Kendall playing so poorly. Has Terry Ryan sent his resume to the Brewers yet?
  3. Cincy should've wanted Hall since that is one of his better places to hit. The main reason I am disappointed was Melvin publicly making the announcement of "working on something". It's like his comments of at the deadline of almost getting the big fish. Why make either comment? So which one do we believe? This is why I have no faith in where this team is headed.
  4. The mere fact we are paying for nearly all of Bill Hall's salary for guy that will never likely to break AA is pretty bad as far as I'm concerned. Not certain if anything was out there, but when we hear we're working on something, shouldn't mean that we got some guy that's 25 in A ball with no ability to find the plate.
  5. Cameron should be hitting in the 6th spot. His best numbers are here. Again, you can not hit and run with a guy that strikes out that much. This is another reason he does not belong in the 2 spot. ABC - Anybody But Cameron.
  6. If you didn't realize that Sherman as coach and a GM got the Packers to the playoffs with a 2-5 record I believe.
  7. I was all for it last year anyhow. No hindsight here.
  8. No. Lee was an All Star. Cordero was having a below average season and was removed from his closer's role. Then maybe we could get Heath Bell for Hardy?
  9. Moeller and Counsell were hardly prospects. Sexson easily could've generated more in terms of players along with Lee. You trade All - Stars for more than what he has.
  10. kendall had two hits and a walk tonight. That should buy him another 25 starts in a row.
  11. So I guess Mike Sherman was a good coach then? And if you are one of the Top 8 teams in the terms of payroll, shouldn't you be winning, especially more than 1 playoff game in 8 years. If that by your terms is good then I would hate to find out what average is.
  12. It's pretty sad watching Colome, Weathers, and VArgas being trotted out in close games continually. Unreal...
  13. And they have only 1 playoff win out of all that. Maybe listing all the facts and show he did little to improve the pitching besides over paying for John Wetteland. I bet the Rangers are still jumping for joy with that big one win in 3 postseason appearances.
  14. Why do people keep assuming that Melvin never "got" any offers but yet, somehow have the crystal ball knowing he didn't get offered anything? At least those of us can point to his bad track record in Texas for his lack of focus on what is needed to win. I for one hope he's gone so he can't pick up another Suppan after next year and sign someone else to what he paid Hall.
  15. Cordero was also the main culprit the Brewers lost to the Cubs in 2007. If he doesn't implode on the road, the Brewers would've won the division. Can't have it both ways.
  16. Again, the problem was Cordero was pitching poorly in Texas plus lost the closers job. Melvin gave up an All Star left fielder for unequivalent talent. Then he wanted Nix to give up Cruz. The compensation we would've received for Lee would've have been one year sooner which also could've been guys far developed than Dykstra and Evan.
  17. I do not see any difference between Cabrera and Cameron offensively. Melky also is a switch hitter. His road splits were better than his home stats besides homers last week. Yes, he is not a gold glover in CF but having CC's production would've reduced the stress on the BP no doubt.
  18. The David Weathers trade is paying off dividends. Hiring a coach to use one of your best BP pitchers in a 9 run blowout and bringing Weathers in yesterday. Every time the Brewers have a chance to get back over .500, they do the same thing a Ned run team did.
  19. Because he's more important in games with the Brewers down by 9 runs.
  20. So who's fault is it that we have one of the worst pitching staffs in baseball? Seems to me, you like to keep making excuses for the 'Stache. Again, you trade players at a high to get value. The Brewers had very little starting pitching coming back and with Yo getting worked like he is doesn't bode well for the future. Hardy was easily the most obvious player to be traded because of the pitching and the players below him, no? I don't think it was that hard to figure this out. Again not to beat the Carlos Lee to death but it was lousy still no matter how you spin it because keeping him would've made more sense because of the compensation A factor.
  21. When Kendall was catching it was a smart move. But the problem I have with Melvin, why are they doing it now that Kendall is riding the pines? BTW about #2 hitters. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/index.php/2-hitters
  22. Mike Sherman got an extension from Ted Thompson when he was hired.
  23. Your #2 hitter should be someone who makes consisten contact putting the ball in the play.
