  1. Can we get these guys into the draft? This always boggles me why teams can just fork out money for guys like Contreras, Dice K, and Godzilla.
  2. I also recall Hardy missing most of his AAA season(2004) on the disabled list too. Your point?
  3. Let's put this in another way. An umpire's job is to make the correct call. The President's job is to make the right decisions. A judge's job is to be fair and make sure a person gets a fair trial. Why do these umpires get a continuous ride when they can't do their job. I think Bud Selig is just as inept a commissioner to not be able to correct poor umpiring calls. I don't care is Kendall slipped or he was set up in the other's batters box. If it travels over the plate and below the letters and above the knees, it is called a strike. It's not rocket science.
  4. Exactly, you aren't exactly losing out on offensive production w/ those numbers.
  5. Where were you when he tore things up during the homestand? He didn't single-handedly sink the Brewers on offense tonight. And where is he in the last 3 games? I want someone more consistent with all the inconsistent players we have. And X Cellence, you might actually want to compare their stats. The Brewers could also use more spend in the lineup than what JJ offers.
  6. I am getting more and more frustrated with the situation day by day. If he's not going to play against RH pitchers then send him down. Just total ineptness by Macha and Melvin.
  7. I for one have never seen a team besides the Yankees get more calls by umpires. The missed call then Leyritz hitting the homer vs Hoffman still sticks in my craw.
  8. Why didn't Macha run his rear out there at all today? I mean Fielder gets called out on a pitch more suspect and then Fox, a scrub, gets a call down the middle? I mean...was the guy in a hurry to go out for dinner? It disgusts me that officials and umpires don't get any heat for the job they do since it is just called "make the right call". Why a farce...
  9. Fielder called out who is a superstar on a worse pitch but yet that let some scab on a 3-2 pitch down the middle walk?
  10. This is a perfect example of why baseball is getting as bad as the NBA. We need a system where umpiring does not favor the big boys or the umpires need to be held accountable.
  11. I said in the offseason the Brewers should've traded Hardy for pitching. The Brewers are not going to win the division with what they have for pitching. They have an extra shortstop right now and Melvin needs to start doing some work.
  12. I want to know how people can argue against Escobar when his offensive numbers in the minors as he's growing into his body have gotten better than JJ's were in AA and AAA. Then throw in the fact that Hardy can not put the ball in play.
  13. JJ shouldn't be given a free pass and has single-handedly sunk the Brewers on offense tonight, again. Escobar at this point would be a much better choice if someone would deal for Hardy.
  14. I'm starting to think Jody Gerut was on the list too.
  15. I agree with the original post. Brad Nelson is a clear example of this. He was named Minor League player of the year at A ball. So? And I also agree with just being drafted high should not automatically mean "high prospect". This is a clear example with Brent Brewer. The Brewers drafted him because he was an athlete in which we passed on guys who were better baseball players. I can remember all the busts for years from Kenny Felder to Antoine Williamson to Chad Green to Gabby Martinez(I think) to Kyle Peterson who everyone knew his throwing motion would end his career. It's pretty obvious Lawrie was a great choice at this point. Reading everything about the guy hitting Hovechar. You can't help to see this kid is a keeper. This Brewer organization has come a long ways since the days of Wendy and Sal.
  16. I'm suprised Pinella doesn't at least like Stratego or Monopoly.
  17. I for one am sick of seeing Bill Hall out there. 0 fer again tonight. Gamel not playing is almost as lost in the sauce as Yost was sticking Mench out time and time again.
  18. Lastings Milledge = Brewerfan.net's 2006-2007 Golden Boy
  19. How many more times is Ned Macha going to stick Hall out there to start. I would rather have Gamel playing full-time and growing with him instead of the Golden Sombrero Hall. He makes Jose Hernandez look patient at the plate.
  20. Paul Molitor is living proof of why walks are overrated. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/m/molitpa01.shtml?redir The guy knew how to hit bad pitches and do things to get guys around.
  21. I said this two years ago, but trading Cruz in the Lee deal was foolish. If the brewers would've kept him, getting rid of Hart or Cruz would've added a key chip in any trade.
  22. First arguing that he shouldn't get a chance because Hart and him are RH is foolish. This is the kind of argument Doug Melvin would make then deal Cruz away. Yes, you would like the backup to be the opposite hitter or a switch but keeping someone or having a man crush like Jody Gerut or making the trade with Mench included is not wise. I argued w/ Brewer fans in the beginning of the year that McGehee should be starting at 3rd on MJS. People didn't think he should even make the team.
  23. I don't want Blake nor James again. Had em once, don't want them twice. The Bucks are still reeling from Ray Allen robbery along with the Grunfeld era.
  24. Does anyone know the scoop with the RJ Seidel? I must've missed an injury thing with him.
