  1. Braun had to run hard to get a Double last night. He might need 2+ days off after that at bat!
  2. Count me in on the Villar better than Sogard side of things
  3. High School teams in the Madison area have played 2 games so far. This entire week is likely snowed out but we didn't get nearly as much snow as much of the rest of the state, hopefully there'll be more games on Saturday or certainly next week. Meanwhile the Hitters Spring League (travel team league in the Milwaukee suburbs with the ability to play indoors in inclement weather) has played 26 Games already this spring! Makes for some tough choices moving forwards for kids who are pressured to play for their high school but want to play more Baseball!
  4. I don't think it is a stretch of the imagination to expect Realmuto to out produce Pina. I just don't want to give up Peralta or Burnes to get him. Nottingham + a lower level pitcher + somebody maybe, but I think the Marlins can get a better offer than that.
  5. There is zero reason why Bandy should start again while Nottingham is up. We are still rebuilding, right?!
  6. Yelich is under control for 5 years. Realmuto, I believe, is a free agent after the 2020 season...
  7. Looking forward to seeing the MLB debut of Jacob Nottingham! FWIW (small sample alert), Nottingham has hit better on the road (.333) than at home (.276) so far this year in AAA, so it isn't just a case of him raking in the rare air of Colorado Springs
  8. Realmuto to the Mets seems likely. First Realmuto needs to show he is healthy, though. He hasn't played an inning yet this season. I like Manny Pina a lot but he does seem like a regression candidate.
  9. You attended every day of Spring Training? You saw all the workouts?
  10. Albers hasn't been all that good, but it is just a small sample so far. ERA is to me a relatively worthless stat for a relief pitcher. The 1.20 WHIP is far more concerning. The good ones are under 1 and the great ones are under 0.90 .... Albers needs to be better, but again it is early
  11. It is funny/ironic how two people can read the same thing and have completely polar opposite reactions. That article made me greatly admire Pham and his mental toughness and ability to rise above adversity.
  12. I think teams have learned to shut players down with minor injuries instead of having them try to play through them I don't need a computer program to tell me that a healthy Hernan Perez is more valuable than Christian Yelich when Yelich has a minor oblique injury. But I bet that is what analytics says. And the risk of Yelich reinjuring himself and dealing with the issue all season long is too great. The smart approach is letting him heal up. I don't think players are more fragile. Teams are smarter.
  13. There have been a lot of injuries across Baseball, not just with the Brewers. My guess is that there is a combination of issues including Strength & Conditioning approaches as well as rostering injury prone players to a degree
  14. Southern California = 3 teams Texas = 2 teams Miller Park = 1 team Arizona = 1 team Florida = 2 "teams" Atlanta 10 stadiums with a strong likelihood of warm weather
  15. IGT says if you live south of Duluth or Superior you are a baby about the cold And Never, ever have fun playing Baseball. Baseball very very serious.
  16. Arcia's hitting mechanics are completely jacked up right now. He needs to simplify things and get back to where he was at with his swing in 2016
  17. Cain showing the gritty veteran presence that is underrated by Sabermetricians and Brewerfan.net alike
  18. Charter TV failuring in Madison. Listening on the radio now
  19. The Brewers dominated tonight. Anderson, Jeffress & Hader were lights out. Mets "fans" we're booing Matt Harvey in the 2nd Inning
  20. Josh Hader 0.52 WHIP, 22 K's in 9.1 innings. Incredible start to the season
  21. That will be Keston Hiura's job, not Ryan Braun's
  22. I'm a big Stearns fan but the Maldonado-Bandy deal was one seriously weird trade.
