  1. Brewers are currently 27th in MLB in OPS & OBP (only Miami, San Diego, & Baltimore are worse) and the Brewers are 22nd in BA
  2. Nate Orf is the obvious call up here.... Feel for the kid. Keep grinding Nate!
  3. I really feel for Vogt. Class act and the kind of personality any clubhouse could benefit from. I hope he makes it back and if not, I could see him as a tremendous coach or manager somewhere https://mobile.twitter.com/AdamMcCalvy/status/993972983352963072/video/1
  4. LOL oh well... Hopefully Villar gets most of the starts until Orf gets called up (!)
  5. Perhaps Villar has been dealing with an injury? Maybe that is why Sogard has started 3 games in a row. Perhaps Villar goes on the DL now?
  6. So rumor has it Nate Orf is in Milwaukee today. Sogard DFA'd? Villar or Sogard to the DL maybe?
  7. You have to understand, this is the Orioles we are talking about. They are notoriously reluctant to rebuild in ways that are well beyond perplexing. They would probably ask for a package of Arcia, Burnes & Hader
  8. It was not a stretch to imagine that Shaw, Pina, Santana, & Arcia would produce at significantly lower levels than in 2017. Several people here predicted that, in fact (for the record, I wasn't one of them) It does appear that Stearns calculated that possibility, as well, acquired Yelich & Cain at bargain pricing to be part of the 2019-2022 "window", didn't trade away young pitching, didn't overpay for free agent pitching, and continues to let our top pitching prospects develop in MiLB We are still a rebuilding team.
  9. Would love to have him, but would it justify the cost? Also, starting pitching hasn't been the problem. Yeah same. I love Fulmer and would love to see him in a Brewer uniform but there isn't a pitcher out there besides Ohtani that is going to help solve the real problem on this team. We need a DH? Another 1B? Another outfielder?
  10. With the significantly more difficult schedule coming up in the next several weeks, as compared to who they've faced so far, we will have a much better idea if the Brewers are contenders or pretenders by June 1st
  11. Declining comment, not wanting to jinx anything. Reserving comment for postseason
  12. Would still love to get Francisco Mejia .. He is struggling to hit in AAA but he's only 22. I believe in his talent
  13. Nate Orf absolutely deserves a shot. He has hit at every level of the minors. Hit in MLB Spring Training, and should be on the MLB roster.
  14. That isn't even CC's decision to make. Stearns is the GM and makes those decisions
  15. You could bring up Phillips, and start him over Santana vs RHP and you could bring up Dubon and have him take the super utility spot that Sogard should never be playing in the first place (that would improve the defense and Dubon could at least hit as well as Sogard has this year!) otherwise there isn't much you can do, other than continuing to work with the hitters we already have
  16. Both teams played in the same conditions. They’ve out hit us each game and obviously scored more runs. They have better pitching maybe? And a little bit better defense at C, 2B, RF, & 1B.?
  17. Hasn't the last 3 days been mostly about Wrigley and the wind blowing in?
  18. Since the beginning of 2017, Schoop has been worth about 1.2 WAR more than Scooter Gennett, who also hit a lot of HR's last year https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=2b&stats=bat&lg=all&qual=y&type=8&season=2018&month=0&season1=2017&ind=0&team=0&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0&sort=5,d
  19. Tons of middle infielders hit for power now. The 32 HR's in an outlier season is not as big of a deal as it once was
  20. Depth is a thing that all great teams have. Stearn's was smart to not trade Santana, Aguillar, Thames etc
  21. (Small Sample Alert) Hiura is hitting below .200 in A+ ball so I don't think he's on a path to be rushed. Also Villar is out producing Schoop so far this year. (Large Sample Alert) Schoop is a career .263/.299./.448 player with 6 stolen bases in 2072 AB's. Villar is a career .257/.325/.395 with 131 stolen bases in 1651 AB's
  22. Football starts up in July these days. Most of the bigger schools have required weightlifting sessions for Football in June. Every coach says they like "multi sport athletes" but what they don't say is that they like multi sport athletes as long as their sport is the #1 priority. The people dictated that, with their money and decisions. Increasingly, people were choosing Travel Ball in the summer over High School ball to the point where the WIAA felt like they had to eliminate summer ball. Personally, I don't know if that was a smart decision. I think the focus was too much on the Division 1 schools
  23. Are we certain that Sogard is better defensively at SS than Perez or even Villar? Is his roster spot more valuable than bringing up Dubon to play elite defensive SS? Asking sincerely because I'm not certain.
