  1. Villar is a placeholder until Hiura is ready, which will likely be in the 2019 season.
  2. I like Piña a lot too. Class act who signs autographs for the kids, even on games he's playing in. Something Lucroy never did. He can hit, too. His bat is legit. I just hope Counsell paces him over the course of the season. We need him fresh down the stretch
  3. this is gonna be a fun team to watch all season... Here's hoping we bring in more pitching at the deadline snd make a run
  4. I thought Davies' minor oblique strain in Spring Training in what pushed him back to game #4, adambr2
  5. Cain was a little slow getting that back in, cost us a run there... Speaking of stats, factor that into "ERA". A better defensive play there and the score is still 1-0
  6. Needs to hit and reduce errors. Errors aren't everything, but being first in the league certainly is a bad title to have. His 20 were 8 more than third place. While looking that up I saw we had the most errors "leaders" at three positions: Broxton, Arcia, Villar. Do they track errors per "attempt"? So if you get to more balls you have more chances for an error. Just curious. Similar to the singles hitter who steals 2nd but gets no credit towards "Slugging Percentage" despite his ability to get in scoring position, errors per attempt is a stat lost on far too many Edit: in the sense that superior range should be factored in. Yuni B's fielding pct is irrelevent, as an example
  7. Needs to hit and reduce errors. Errors aren't everything, but being first in the league certainly is a bad title to have. His 20 were 8 more than third place. While looking that up I saw we had the most errors "leaders" at three positions: Broxton, Arcia, Villar. Agreed. I think he will reduce the errors and continue to improve with the bat. Hopefully he'll play in several postseasons with the Brewers which will raise his national profile, as well
  8. Arcia might have a Gold Glove or three before his career is over...
  9. Hiura's defense won't be MLB ready in 2018. His bat is arguably light years ahead of his defense. I might be the biggest Hiura fan on this site (I'm predicting multiple batting titles and a shot at the Hall of Fame) but I'd kindly suggest to slow your roll on major contributions from him this year...
  10. Taking out Nola after 60 some pitches was smart. Nola will benefit longterm from shorter outings. Not having a pitcher warming up? Crazy town. But where was the rest of the coaching staff on this? Nobody communicated about it? Ultimately it is Kapler's fault and he'll need to really minimize those types of mistakes, or the revolution will be over before it starts
  11. Piña really got his bell rung on a foul ball last night. I'm totally good with him getting the day off. Arcia out of the lineup is likely punishment for forgetting how many outs there were during an inning yesterday, as he has been generally spectacular. Hopefully that is all it is and he doesn't have a minor injury. Really rooting for Villar to hit well tonight. I like him so much better than Sogard& Perez, but he needs to hit to keep getting starts. I love Cain & Yelich hitting 1-2. Wouldn't mess with that..... Go Brewers!
  12. I'll be very surprised if Sogard isn't starting at second...
  13. I would rest Braun. Keeping him healthy would be a huge part of his success. I think Thames will play his way out of the lineup anyways. Santana has been hitting the ball well and in my opinion should start 135-140 games at the very least.
  14. Is this some kind of weird early April Fools joke?
  15. Meanwhile Lewis Brinson just keeps hitting ground balls to short
