  1. liveforoctober: you make great points, but that is all the more reason why we need more pitching, because you cannot rely on 5 starters to stay injury free. It is a real stretch of the imagination for me to think that Anderson will be as good as he was last year. It is possible, certainly, but I'm not counting on it. Chacin is a good addition. Woodruff is a bit of a wildcard. There are zero guarantees that Nelson will be an effective starter again. Shoulder injuries are as unpredictable as it gets. If he puts up similar production to his 2015-2016 numbers it wouldn't shock me. Not directed at anyone in particular: And our goal is to win a World Series, not to hang another embarrassing wildcard pennant on the wall!
  2. Ryan Braun's window closed. The "new window" surrounding Cain and especially Yelich is 2018-2020 for the most part, with 2021 being still a Yelich window. The hopes are that Arcia and Hader can take the next steps into becoming stars... If we don't add a starter it would be disappointing. It would be a waste, to me,of the 1st year of this window. But there are still other years coming, with hopes that Burnes and Hiura can be impact players as soon as 2019....
  3. Who's HH ? Exactly. Woah Solvvd
  4. Man oh man, just pay Arrieta what he wants, trade for another starter and let's go contend for a title! Easy for me to say because it isn't my money. Someone should do do a study on how much revenue would be created by fans turning fanatical over a Brewers World Series team
  5. Jharel Cotton entering his age 26 season with a career 4.95 ERA & 1.326 WHIP in MLB, and his MiLB stats aren't much better... I seriously doubt he'll cost us Santana! I'd rather roll with Woodruff, and I'd be careful dealing with Billy Beane, he's fleeced us before
  6. I would love to have Stroman on the Brewers.
  7. Yelich, absolutely....
  8. Yes lots of teams have similar lists. Odorizzi was a good pick and helped get us Greinke. He's not a bust. Neither is Jeffress. Sure, Jeffress isn't the ace we hoped he'd be but he's an MLB pitcher. Jones, Rogers and Covey had injuries and/or health issues. That happens with pitchers. Sheets was one of the best pitchers in Baseball for a few years. Gallardo was home grown and very very good for awhile. I wish the Brewers had drafted more great pitchers, too, but it hasn't been an all out disaster. Hopefully Santana + can be flipped for MLB Pitching
  9. 83 wins sounds about right for this team if they don't improve the starting pitching... With the group they have right now, the bullpen will be worn out by early June
  10. He is a respected vet, a leader, bats left handed, decent speed, puts ball into play and not a K monster and most importantly.......he's a stop gap to Hiurea. Thanks, that makes sense.... Yelich and Cain do represent a desire to get away from the K monster, for sure...
  11. I'd be interested in more details on how Kipnis fits the Brewers analytical preferences. He doesn't play multiple positions, he is not young controllable talent, he is below average defensively....
  12. Stroman at the deadline makes plenty of sense... The Blue Jays will almost certainly be sellers
  13. Thanks HighHeat19 .... It is good to get an update
  14. LOL (literally) He'll be here soon. Probably a few things shifting
  15. 475 now Still betting on Jake Arrieta
  16. Looking forward to the "News at Nine" Anybody want to predict what the news is? I'm guessing that the Brewers have made another offer to Darvish, and have a deal in place with Arrieta if that falls through. Expecting a signing within 48 hours
  17. Something has to happen early this week...Pitchers & Catchers report soon... Still thinking we get Darvish or Arrieta.
  18. I prefer keeping the DH in the NL I just hope that if they change the rules, teams in the NL given a 2-3 year warning ahead of time so GM's can plan accordingly. For instance, if the Brewers knew that the NL was going to have a DH in 2019, the decision making process as to what to do with Domingo would be different.
  19. Homer, thanks for your work here. You & the other mods here are a huge part of what makes this place something special.
  20. Because @BrewerWorld went skating last weekend. LOL (literally!) OK then.... I mean hey I'm a Domingo Santana fan, but the Indians trading away starting pitching to get Domingo is not likely to be the difference maker that wins them the World Series...
  21. Why is a team like Cleveland who is in the Championship hunt wanting to trade away pitching?
  22. Have to admit it is exciting to hear that the Brewers might have the highest offer to Darvish At some point the free agent starting pitchers have to sign somewhere, right? They aren't going to sit out the season.
  23. Appreciate the update Brewers & Rays still stuck because of one player?
  24. What makes the Cubs the benchmark for free agent decisions? Well they did see the guy up close and desperately need starting pitching and clearly don't want the guy back. You don't think that's a giant red flag? Not being willing to pay the astronomical amounts that Scott Boras wants for his client, and "not wanting him back" are very very different things. Anyone who saw Arrieta in the playoffs 3-4 months ago knows he is a very valuable asset.
