  1. Yep. I agree. I wasn't clear in my post, but I think you are correct. I was trying to acknowledge that my take was lazy.
  2. This is being magnanimous. I was going to say he's being lazy. Either way, he should sit.
  3. I was scanning, and I thought for sure he was getting promoted... Uff da... With THAT said, this could be a way to cut back on his innings. He's had a prodigious workload (92 IP) for a 19-year-old A-baller... By the way, Manuel. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
  4. It's gunna be fun this winter. Each set of rankings will feature 4-6 Brewers... but each one will feature a total of like, 10 different players.
  5. I think some of those lists pride themselves on "fixing" what they think they got wrong. It's not so different from our own rankings. Made may make the top 10 after the season, but if he's batting .210 in June next year, playing in AZ, that could change really quickly.
  6. Yeah, I'm probably misremembering, but I thought he was playing 3rd and landed hard on his tailbone trying to catch a soft pop up over his head.
  7. Better get those bets in... That line WILL change after today.
  8. Perhaps it's the off-center camera, but what is he throwing? It looks like a nasty cutter and a changeup?
  9. Based on last night's ABs, I get the sense that he has poor pitch recognition, so he just doesn't swing at many pitches, hopes to run into enough of them, and walk enough to piece together an AB. That 91 mph right down the middle in a hitters count (I think), seemed like a problem to me, along with the whiff on the back-foot sweeper.
  10. Oh for sure. Especially interesting to see what the Brewers do. This contributes to the roster crunch of guys coming off the IL. I suspect, too that the recent promotions of Misiorowski and now Henderson spells some cuts to the AAAA staff. Depending on how it shakes out, this could be the lack of a couple of small-time trades from our bullpen depth mildly frustrating. Although, I suppose this is the challenge for all the teams. AAAA-level pitchers probably weren't in very high demand.
  11. Certainly, pitchers are able to improve their offerings as they climb the ladder, but I suspect the improvements to control and command are the real difference-makers. I imagine that there are lots of A-ballers and high draft picks with MLB-caliber stuff. Once they gain some control, they can pitch in A+/AA. Once they harness command, they can be AAA/MLB guys. I think this is usually the comparison between a guy like Misiorowski, and a guy like Chad Patrick. Patrick has control/command, but the stuff needed to get outs in the bigs is iffy. We see a guy like Carlos Rodriguez have good enough stuff with control, but really needs to be able to command that stuff in order to get big-league hitters out. Logan Henderson has been lauded for having stuff since he was drafted.
  12. Those clips of Pratt and Bitoni, though... whoa. 4 Extra base hits between the two of them... 3 of them opposite field. The two Pratt doubles will be homers in another year or two. That Bitoni bomb will fly 420 feet in a year or two. They just will not stop impressing.
  13. I've been meaning to ask lately... Have the recent successes of Luis Castillo (only 20), and to a lesser degree, Eduardo Garcia (only 22(!)), given our collective any hope that they can rekindle their borderline top 20 prospect status? Castillo, I believe, received a big bonus, and Garcia, I think, has a big-league body and plays big-league defense at short.
  14. Roughly that many players drafted in the top 10 rounds of the draft, and none of them are going TO the DSL. While it is weird to witness, it was predictable.
  15. I'm not sure Bristol Motor Speedway would be the first venue I would envision, if I were tasked with finding new and unique locales (that can make money and draw eyeballs). However, in the article, it states that if it sold out, it would be the largest crowd in MLB history. Austin Riley compares it to SEC football. I dunno. It sounds stupid on the surface, but after thinking about it, I can see why they're doing it.
  16. I could be wrong, but for some reason, I thought someone here said it was simply due to Carlos' turn in the rotation matched up with the need in MLB.
  17. So much of the chatter is driven by journalists and agents. Teams do their due diligence and the agent can't wait for Joel Sherman to write that the Yankees and Mets are talking about getting Skubal.
  18. Would they be less frustrated if he just hung up the phone?
  19. That's a good point on Dinges working on defense in AZ. I'm low-key excited about him.
  20. This is not to say that the discussion in May about whether he should be demoted or not wasn't legitimate, but I disagree with the Tweeter's comment that his performance at that time proves that he shouldn't have been in MLB. Obviously, it's hindsight, but I think that his recent performance demonstrates that the Brewers sticking with him ended up being the correct decision. Oodles of players NEED a few months, or longer, to adjust to the level of play regardless of how much seasoning they've had in the minors.
  21. It was like he said to himself, "Oh, I guess I can't hit MLB sliders away like I could in the minors, I guess I'll just stop swinging at them."
  22. So are we expecting Burke or maybe Dinges to play in Carolina this year?
  23. There was no replicating 2023. I think that set many people up for disappointment with this draft. I'm a little surprised that so many posters are SO disappointed by the Payne pick. It was a surprise pick, sure. The consensus boards had him in the #50-#100 range, but we see high schoolers in every draft that get first round money later on. What does it matter where he was picked? And considering his age and athleticism? I mean based on the Brewers success lately, if he's dominating AZ like Adamczewski did this year? I dunno, I just have a lot of faith in this organization to pick good players. In addition, we don't know what the bonus demands of the other players were. Many players insist on signing for slot. If the Brewers were determined to stay under the slot value, then the team is looking at a different set of players, where perhaps Payne is "ranked" the highest. The strategy bit them a little when Levonas didn't sign, but if he does, they don't sign 4 or 5 other guys. So they got quantity over quality. Never a bad thing when drafting arms.
