  1. Could work out well for Supak if the balls are no longer juiced. Remember him flirting with a couple of no hitters in Biloxi last year, then hitting a wall and giving up a bunch of bombs as soon as he was promoted to AAA and the ball changed.
  2. Throwing 99 is always intriguing. Though I'm more inclined to believe Wahl and Lauer have been stinking it up in Appleton than we have something with a 29 year old indy ball player with a career MiLB ERA touching 5.
  3. Since Lauer isn't starting, counter move to the Phelps trade would be Knebel activated or Wahl recalled?
  4. Hard to tell without names, but on the surface the profile works for me. I'll take potentially good prospects who are a few years out and to avoid the Doug Melvin special of "Major League ready" prospects, since that usually translates into AAAA players who are ready to sit on the ML bench.
  5. Those here who called before the season that Reds spending would amount to another dud are welcome to dig up those old posts and have their bragging moment. I know I read it from a couple of you!
  6. BUDS There's a whole, not super interesting story behind it that involves Budweiser.
  7. Hopefully a good gut check for Woodruff to get out of what looked like another meltdown inning. Little bit of defensive help from Gamel and Narvaez certainly made the difference.
  8. Not a bad send. Looked well out in real time, but replay looked pretty close.
  9. I'm troubled that Ray is almost 26 and already on the roster, yet he can't earn a call-up over a journeyman with no upside. Not a bunch of MLB players from that draft yet that make the pick stand out as particularly bad. However, the next outfielder taken was Kyle Lewis, who is looking like a star and the AL ROY favorite.
  10. If like Holt, Peterson is going to spend more than half of his time in the outfield, it leaves me to believe that that Corey Ray is not impressing in Appleton.
  11. Anderson doing real nice work tonight. Defense has also been handling all those ground balls.
  12. I don't know how to watch a game with a first inning hit. I usually cruise into the 5th waiting for the first hit.
  13. I swear Counsell unearthed an old copy of Ron Roenicke's Baseball Manual in the manager's office. The smorgasbord of Out-Getters has been replaced by Middle Relief Guy, 8th Inning Set Up Guy, 9th Inning Closer. Everything is by the book.
  14. It's hard enough for him to get it over the plate. Asking for location is just getting greedy.
  15. Only Angel Hernandez would be dumb enough to think Angel Perdomo is trying to hit a batter.
  16. Maybe Rasmussen will get to pitch. Maybe Sogard will get to pitch.
  17. Gyorko homers, gets pinch hit for. Counsell must have unearthed a copy of Roenicke's Baseball Manual.
  18. Corey Ray can't be impressing if they wanted another left-handed bat to replace a guy who's been in the outfield half the time and went for another journeyman rather than recall him.
  19. Getting lit up by the 4 win Pirates. Happy birthday, Craig.
  20. I'd be tempted to send Narvaez to Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium. Nottingham can't be worse.
