  1. 6/28/19 Milwaukee Brewers placed RHP Jimmy Nelson on the 10-day injured list retroactive to June 26, 2019. Right elbow effusion. 7/24/19 Milwaukee Brewers sent RHP Jimmy Nelson on a rehab assignment to San Antonio Missions. --- If I mathed correctly, the 60 days and his 30 days rehab assignment coincide? So he either gets shut down or a couple of roster moves could be due then.
  2. Nice! Glad they're getting some new blood up. May Supak and Perdomo be around the corner as well.
  3. I would tender him. Shouldn't be cost prohibitive to gamble that his 2019 is an aberration, and he will have an option left. Absolutely. Moose, yes. Grandal, no. Won't have the funds to pay for both and pitching. We can try to fill the catching position internally better than we can fill infield, especially if Shaw is an unknown. My guess would be a veteran utility player. I'd prefer something more transformative, just don't see it happening. One free agent signing, one internal fill between Burnes/Houser/Supak/Jankins or Gonzalez re-signing. Possibly a Liles or equivalent also brought in for additional insurance. Yep.
  4. My issue is mostly the lack of committing to a direction. Was very Melvin-esque in that regard: a "buy" being to acquire Tony Graffanino to signal a move to the fans that the team is crying, and a "sell" demanding "major-league ready" talent, which usually means ready to sit the major league bench. And these moves almost had a little of each within them which made them ever more strange. I was fine with selling, and wouldn't have complained about getting low-minors potential for All-Stars on expiring contracts - it was a clear direction. I was also fine with buying, and wasn't being silly by demanding Greinke or Syndergaard - the prices for many relievers weren't what we gave up for Pomeranz and Black, and many starters wouldn't have bankrupted our already meager farm. I like Faria's potential, though it is trademark of the confusion to me: if you're improving this year's team, he doesn't go to AAA. If you're selling for prospects, I'd rather have an A+ arm with some upside. The Dubon trade I don't understand - Pomeranz is similar to the relievers every contending team acquired for next to nothing, but has less of a track record as a reliever. Black has upside, but without options next year the risk is enormous; it's probably a coin flip that he gets DFA'd before the year is out, if he even manages to stay healthy.
  5. The sad thing about our farm is that we're legitimately out of young, good position players that could come up. There's a few pitchers at least.
  6. CC just sitting there hoping Grandal doesn't make him go get him after a correct strike three call for the second time in less than a month.
  7. Never go full Yost. The team with the best record in the NL last year thought it could get over the hump by hiring the assistant hitting coach of the most underachieving offense in the league, so I expect Jason Lane will be a hot commodity in the off-season.
  8. I think Jeffress might have just had a right ankle strain. Better get him on the IL.
  9. Tom @Haudricourt LHP Brent Suter has said all along he thinks he can be ready to pitch for #Brewers in September and with an assignment to @BiloxiShuckers, it certainly seems reasonable. Don't put anything past him, with his work ethic and smarts.
  10. Looks like Uggla was in year three of a 5 year, $62M deal. So $39M down to $26M owed as he crapped out that year.
  11. .155 closing in on 200 ABs. It's like he completely lost the ability to hit a baseball.
  12. Balls in leading off Grisham, getting Hiura a needed day off, piling on the lefties. Inject this lineup into my veins.
  13. Does he play shortstop and lead off now? If not, the comment is misplaced given the current state of the Crew. No, but team recycling and composting will increase 500% once he returns.
