Gomez, CF Lucroy, C Braun, RF Ramirez, 3B Gennett, 2B Davis, LF Reynolds, 1B Segura, SS Nelson, P Same lineup that got 4 in six innings on Greinke six days ago. Though also the same lineup that was inept against the Cubs.
162 IP last year, 147 IP so far this year. Looks like about eight more starts could be in order, so a conservative 50 IP gets him to 197. Seems doable; though if the flexibility is there to keep the innings down a little it wouldn't hurt.
If we can get everyone back healthy by early September, I like having the option to push back once or twice without formally going with a "six man rotation", i.e. the Dodgers are ending a 20 day stretch without a day off; they started Correia on Monday and pushed everyone back a day to give the other starters an extra day off, but he's not in the rotation moving forward. We have a 17 day stretch between August 29 - September 14 without a day off where that could be beneficial.
His breakkaball is slick, I'd say above average. And fastball below. But you can't walk across most of his pitches better. Location's always been his thing, and when he's on he's really, really good. Ya, no kidding. He is the solo shot king. His runner on third < 2 out situations have driven me crazy this year. 3-16 with 4 sac flies and 2 walks. So backing out the BBs, a 7-20, 35% success rate in plating the runner on third. MLB average is 51%. Small sample, yeah. I can't get over seeing a guy that should be able to tap a ball and have it get it into the outfield for the sacrifice fail 65% of the time.
Should - which means they'll get one first inning run then mail it in. Then again this is our split squad lineup, which seems to be more successful than the regulars.
Some teams get a good offensive spark when they fire their hitting coach and replace him with their bench coach. Oh, wait. Can we just can both Narrons? If that won't work, let's at least see more Parra and Maldonado more than once a week.

Good news and bad... Brewers Fantasy Camp @BrewersFanCamp · 2h I am feeling much better and expect to be back behind the mic on Tuesday at Miller Park. Thanks to all of you! To minimize the bad news a bit... FOX Sports Wisconsin @fswisconsin · 10m Bob Uecker will be back in the booth with Brian Anderson tonight for the 3rd, 4th, and 7th innings! #MILvsCHC
1) End the All-Star Game win = home field nonsense 2) Reduce interleague games to the 9-12 range vs. the 20 on our schedule this year 3) Cut back on the scope of replay 4) Make the competitive balance lottery qualification based on those with the lowest market size AND revenue, not OR. Teams with large markets (i.e. Phoenix, Miami) should not be rewarded for not capitalizing on the market they're in, and teams with cash to pay players (St. Louis) should not be rewarded because they're technically in a small market. 5) From above, do something about teams not able to void the contracts of PED users. It can cripple a small market team to have a huge contract on the books, and really isn't even right that the Yankees have to pay A-Rod. I can see how the MLBPA would have issues with disputed PED users having contracts voided, but perhaps working through an insurance program to limit the liability a team has so they don't pay the full salary out of pocket if they choose to cut ties.
Magic number will be stuck tonight. Someone tell our hitters that tomorrow's pitcher is actually a healthy Tanaka and not some guy making his sixth start, that way they might come to play.
Sure does feel like a fluke homer is the most we could see. Inning and our MLB rank for runs scored: 1: 2 2: 5 3: 8 4: 12 5: 13 6: 16 7: 22 8: 21 9: 23 Ex: 17
Ya. Like go to Nashville. I know that's harsh. His D is good. But he is just atrocious at the plate It's not that harsh. The Brewers sent down Hardy when he was hitting a similar average but at least with some power. And that wasn't during a pennant race. He's lucky we don't have a replacement better than Herrera. Can we send him to the Arizona Fall League like we did with Hardy? I suppose the Dominican fall/winter league may be an option.
