  1. My 4-14 prediction not looking too smart. They just keep finding ways to win.
  2. Imagine losing three division games in two days in your home park, and your bullpen completely wiped out with a position player pitching and the other team's fans more visible than your own. Cardinals are having a very bad time.
  3. Best ABs of the night by the rookies. If Chourio and Contreras can get out of their deep funks we might have an offense.
  4. Tells me they're wary of committing 40-man spots and a temporary Jones is easier to manage than adding Williams or Leonard permanently.
  5. Another run because Bauers is the fastest/best base running first baseman and better than most corner outfielders as well.
  6. 3rd base will be interesting. Would be difficult to roll with Ortiz and Pratt for 7 games. Frelick actually makes more sense than Vaughn. Good thing is we lose nothing defensively in the outfield with Lara.
  7. Getting one with the mostly intact bullpen for tomorrow is big. Figure Megill unavailable, Patrick could go. Great outing by Drohan, pitching without run support and 2 of 3 runs given up were on the defense behind him. Perhaps they can get a good scout on a starter for a change and get some early runs. Wonder if Hamilton will be ok or if we'll see Jett or Leonard. Even better, IL Yelich and get a AAA bat of choice in since he's painful to watch right now.
  8. Gonna need Stallings to eat a good four innings today the way we're going.
  9. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2026/07/brewers-expected-to-place-brandon-woodruff-on-15-day-injured-list.html
  10. I thought I had moved on but the bitterness about last weekend's hitting is returning after watching the Cardinals tee off on these pitchers that literally everyone else (including AAA hitters) has had no trouble scoring runs against.
  11. This tells me Murphy knows through channels that Sanchez will be named the starter since the game is in Philly. Miz getting that honor would be the only point to having him pitch in it.
  12. 1.2 IP in back-to-back days is something for Patrick. Very effective tonight. Wonder if he makes the transition from kind-of-a long reliever to another Ashby rubber arm.
  13. I've lost track of the number of extra bases gained by Bauers from his speed and baserunning compared to almost all other first basemen (and even some corner outfielders). That one resulted in a run.
  14. Nice to see Stallings. One of those guys who's not really considered a prospect but put in the work to earn a call-up and at least become a major leaguer.
  15. They probably don't care for the alternatives either. Jett seems less ready than Pratt in AAA. They're still giving Adams some starts at 3B, but no one believes he can play there in the majors. Might have to move Jace Peterson to the roster.
  16. I'm predicting 4-14 into the All Star Break to come back to earth. Needing starters to go 7 due to the lack of bullpen depth and getting no run support from a lineup that gets shut down by pitchers who have been lit up by AAA lineups this year and is a recipe for a bad stretch of ball.
  17. Anyone else get DFA'd recently that we can pick off the trash heap? Knowing our front office, Kuhnel will be on the roster until mid-August.
  18. With all the injuries, their pitching is a bunch of scrap-heap pickups that would get lit up by most AAA lineups (and in some cases, has). Abysmal failure by the position players (and given the approaches, probably hitting coaches).
  19. It's incredible that not a single player on the team can hit a fly ball (much less get an actual hit) with a runner on third and fewer than two outs.
  20. Koenig looked decent. Still a couple ticks below ideal, but possibly playable.
  21. If he's getting the honor of starting, cool. If Sanchez is starting because the game's in Philly, he should not be pitching. Murph should have had that conversation with Roberts already.
  22. Lara 3-3 tonight. Luke Adams with a granny and a sac fly (which I find worth mentioning since no one on the current roster can hit one of those).
  23. I will never not be angry about MLB.TV's claim that you can "watch every live out of market game", then inventing the term "national blackout" to shut you out when they decide to sell games other to streaming services.
