  1. I want the Brewers to sign another middle infielder for no other reason than to rattle the cages of brewerfan.net. Heck, maybe another OF too.
  2. Duh. Mark makes money on all of them. He's in his vault right now sliding around on all his gold coins like Scrooge McDuck laughing at us peasants.
  3. Don't like the price tag but the signing makes some sense. I really hope he doesn't turn back into a pumpkin or Stearns will really look bad on this one.
  4. What a gross trade that would be. Woof.
  5. Concerned and writing clickbait stories in December. He, much like a lot of fans and current Brewerfan.net posters should probably wait to see the final product of the offseason before making a judgment. The same ownership/GM/Manager won 96 games the season before without having those two "Allstars" and Lyles wasn't even included in the playoff roster. There are just too many variables still out there to jump to a conclusion.
  6. Just name an all-pro team and stop with the stupid pro bowl all together. It's not even a football game. But I suppose you could say the same thing about what we all watch every Sunday.
  7. Yes, who cares what Braun wants... He's only moved everywhere they've ever asked him to and has said that he would be open to other positions to help the team. BTW, he played in 140+ games last year and started like 115 while being their 3rd best bat, but yes, screw Braun.
  8. Did Bart Winkler write that article? It is kinda funny as the Brewers have been one of the more active teams in both free agency and trading. A lot of teams haven't done a single thing for their clubs. Yes, we haven't had a headliner but one can argue a pretty great case that those headliners were just way overpaid in regards to what the Brewers can do financially.
  9. I agree. Scooter got extremely hot for a bit which inflates what some think about him. He needs to prove he is a reliable bat. Too many valleys to remember the peak for him for me.
  10. For me, McNeil & Davis might be better than just getting Lux. You cover two holes with potential impact bats versus one. Lux could very well flame out just as much as either Davis or McNeil. Two may end up being better than one in this instance.
  11. If there is no clear cut TOR type pitcher that is worth it, and I'm not sure Thor is, the next best thing would be getting impact bats and both McNeil and Davis could just be that. They would be cheap and controlled for several seasons to pair up with Urias and Hiura. We would have one cheap infield to go along with our expensive outfield but either way, we would have some premium talent at just about every position.
  12. Yeah, we got the joke.
  13. I don’t think I’d want Lowrie back if it’s Smith and McNeil. If want a lottery ticket arm if we are going after those two.
  14. Why would anyone gripe with this signing? You just don’t make sense if you do. This is a depth signing and a good one. Not every signing is life and death for the Brewers. Have some perspective every once in awhile.
  15. Free Agents: -Josh Donaldson: Last reported that the Nats are offering 4years at $100M. Doubtful he's a candidate. -Todd Fraiser: About as league average as you get but might not break the bank either. -Asdrúbal Cabrera: Not ideal but could be a stopgap until a better option is found. Trade Candidates: -Jose Ramirez (Indians): Would be the best fit for a trade due to our current window and he is entering his prime years. -Josh Turner (Dodgers): Depending on who the Dodgers sign, he could be a target. Owed $20M in 2020. -Matt Chapman (Athletics): Doubtful we have the prospects to make this happen. -Kyle Seager (Mariners): I think the Mariners would have to chip in a bit here to make this a reality. -Eduardo Escobar (Dbacks): Signing MadBum probably means they wouldn't move a guy like this but he's a solid bat. -Nolan Arenado (Rockies): Another one where I don't think we have the pieces to move to make this a reality. Anyone else I am missing that could be a fit?
  16. Count me as someone who has generally liked the moves they have made so far, especially Urias/Lauer, Narvaez and Anderson. What pains me is the fact that we easily have enough money to spend on an elite bat/D guy like Donaldson that for me, could really push this team over the top, and we know it won't happen. It's how Stearns operates, and that's certainly not a bad thing. Its just, especially with a guy like Donaldson who is rumored to be open to a contract that lines up perfectly with our window, and fills a hole we desperately need with elite production, I wish they would take the risk. If he is looking for a 4-year/$100M deal, I think that takes the Brewers out as the Nats seem to be willing to go there. If he was in the 2 to 3-year window, I think the Brewers might look to go down that road. Just my two cents.
  17. I think they will spend about half that $36.5M for the opening day roster to give them a bit more flexibility in July.
  18. I hope this isn't taken as piling on but I've always wanted Clancy to be a GM of a team because it would really interesting to see what that team would look like. Listen, we all are not qualified for that position but he has just so many outside the box ideas that it would be interesting to see what it would all look like and how it would function.
  19. But Stearns sucks, so we have to complain.
  20. 39 Bombs!! Not sure how to include this photo but if another posted could do it, by all means.
  21. Have you looked at the numbers? They’ll probably end up pretty comparable.
  22. In the park they play in, this strategy really makes a lot of sense. [sarcasm]Especially with Mike Moustakas manning SS/2B[/sarcasm] Well, a “seeing-eye-single” is still better than the ball landing in the Ohio River.
  23. In the park they play in, this strategy really makes a lot of sense.
  24. I don’t know why I chuckled when I got the “breaking news” message. I mean, a couple years ago this guy was a bum and literally looks like one. Stearns found him too. Pretty neat.
  25. Walk rate needs to climb a bit, yes.
