  1. This is a fan message board ... it's all opinion. And yeah, if this team keeps losing winnable games nearly every night, it is quite likely in their best interest to sell some of the short-termers and reload for next year. No one (well, no one with any sense anyway) is talking about dealing Yelich, Hader, Woodruff or Huira. Correct. I’m looking at short term moves to hopefully make gains for a system that needs it. We can go grab Grandal and/or Moose in the offseason again but grabbing some system depth right now is looking like the best case scenario for this club.
  2. I want Chacin, Moose and Grandal moves for sure. And it’d be great if we could find someone on Thames and/or possibly Davies.
  3. I love Braun as much as anyone but I wonder why the Brewers would ever lock a guy up into his mid 30’s ever again? You can find offensive production pretty easily in the OF.
  4. One offensive player does nothing for a window. Pitching wins. Gotta find it and figure out how to have it in a cost controlled way.
  5. Man, I really thought Stearns was going to be a stud GM that continued to find diamonds in the rough. Looking more and more like a horseshoe was stuck up his keister last year.
  6. Uhh... Grandal and Moose have been pretty good this season and Braun is alright. I don’t get this take at all.
  7. Put this guy back in the damn pen where he belongs. It’s been one stupid decision after another this season.
  8. Awesome. Can’t wait to see what we fetch for Grandal, Moose, Chacin and possibly others then.
  9. Aguilar is still lazy I see. Didn’t miss that in his time on the bench b
  10. I keep seeing that we won’t get much but what did Lucroy fetch us when we traded him? Sure was a nice haul. Not sure why Grandal wouldn’t get us a nice piece or pieces for us to use going forward either on our own team or trading away for another piece. Heck, the only reason we probably have Yelich is because we got Brinson in that deal. We also traded away Lind for a guy like Peralta and two other lottery picks. While that was in the offseason, Moose could very well fetch us an interesting return. And we all saw that Homer Bailey somehow just was trade-able so I’m sure Chacin could find his way elsewhere too. I would rather get something for these guys than to circle the drain for another couple of months with what we are seeing on the field. Heck, it’s not like we didn’t win the division a year ago with Pina and Shaw manning C and 3B anyways.
  11. So instead of sending Burnes to AAA where he can get regular work, they are making up a phantom IL stint? Not to sound too conspiratorial, but the only thing hurt on Burnes is his ego. I think it’s a solid idea to give him a mental break. They should send him an all inclusive resort somewhere in the Bahamas and the have him start games in AAA the rest of the way to find himself.
  12. When Dubon pinch hit the other day, he looked like he just fell out of his mom with that baby face. Couldn’t believe how young he looked. And he is tiny. I thought Arcia is small but man, there is nothing to Dubon.
  13. Anyone who is a former catcher or loves that aspect of the game should hate the idea of machines calling pitches. But I guess we have already lost the art of pitching, small ball, etc... so in the end I’m sure the game will go on.
  14. Exactly, bullpen reinforcements are exactly what this team needs to be able to win the central. I’d do the following with the aforementioned pen reinforcements: Trade Chacín for prospects. Trade Grandal for prospects Gio replaces Chacín. Freitas replaces Grandal Don’t need Chacín with Gio/Peralta Freitas can hit and defend, less than 100 ab’s At .214 in ML not enough to judge, last 2 years .950+ ops 500 ab’s, .450+ on base telling, non K bat too. At least he gets a real shot to show us what he can do. At least one of the 2 pen reinforcements should be controlled past this year, but hoping for both. So you want to go for it and win the Central, and deal off the team's All-Star catcher and a solid starter? Umm, teams don't do this. You decide if you're a buyer or not, and make moves accordingly. They aren't going to make "buy" moves, and then turn around and trade away Chacin and Grandal. He just doesn’t like Chacin. A week ago it was move him to the pen. Now because he’s throwing the ball well it is trading him for something useful. He did the same junk with Davies and wonders why people call him out all the time. Scatter shot all over the boards to hope that somehow he’s right with one of his goofy ideas.
  15. Do other clubs have situations like Burnes? He’s never given a glimpse of anything remotely like this during his short time in our system. Just simply amazing. Feels like a Brewer curse that they just cannot cultivate good pitchers.
  16. Of course this season is disappointing and probably will end up that way but jeez, the amount of babies I see is amazing. All I know is Stearns should act accordingly and get as much as he can for the 1-year players we have. If he doesn't, it will only continue to make it that much harder for us to acquire talent in the future. Our system is just not good enough to lean on for quality players in the future.
  17. Great relay. Braun made a nice throw despite losing some footing and Arcia was right on the money.
  18. No reason to be jumping back heading towards first there for Yelich. Mental mistake possibly kills a big inning.
  19. Here is the article Adam McCalvy wrote on the stance adjustment, Inspired by Bellinger, Braun reworks stance “It’s like, my BP is still so good. Maybe it’s because the ball is juiced, but I’m hitting balls further and harder than ever. I know I’m not as healthy as I was when I was younger, but I’m shocked that I’m not performing better in games, still. So maybe this is something that will help me get there. ... You’re never too old or too proud to make adjustments and make changes. It’s worth exploring.”
  20. Jackson is a guy while watching spring training that I thought looked really good. Hope he can find his groove with us because we need it.
  21. Braun changed it up a bit: Per Adam McCalvy
  22. Standing pat and receiving nothing for our expiring contracts is not a good choice.
  23. The Dodgers did offers QO to him. Could’ve been just to get a pick but doubt there’s any bad blood. There catchers stink.
  24. Their catchers suck. Austin Barnes and Russel Martin have just been bad. We could take Martin back in a deal to offset some money for a better prospect(s). The Dodgers lineup would be set with adding Grandal. Seems like a no-brainer.
