Cubs just aching to be beat and the Brewers doing everything they can to find a way to lose this one.
-
Good approach there by Cain. Dang.
-
Now I see what Coles does. He holds the scouting reports to far away from our hitters too actually see them.
-
What does a hitting coach actually do? I mean a guy like Braun probably doesn’t give two hoots what Coles has to say to him.
-
Holy hell Braun. Come on man.
-
Boy that sure looked foul.

Also done with Sogard... I keep going back to the transactions thread discussing 2b. I've always hated Brandon Phillips, but I'd give him 2b right now. DFA Sogard and Villar and bring up Taylor Williams. Let's get crazy and overreact. And what has Villar done to be lumped into Sogards terribleness?
-
Sogard might be a great clubhouse guy but he sucks.
-
Hader has three options to make millions of dollars in his career. Either as a starter, a back end flamer, or a loogy that no one touches. Must be nice.
-
Just put Hader in the rotation and bat him 7th ahead of Pina and Arcia.
-
Villar off to a decent start but black holes at catcher and shortstop as well as having to bat a pitcher just sucks the life out of any lineup.
-
Storm the Bastille! It’s just so silly. Basically give up an out when you normally don’t even use all your bench in a game. Granted Yelich is hurt but we need to score runs.
-
We might as well go for the record now.
-
Time for Braun to use a shorter bat.
-
This will tick me off if we don’t pinch hit for Woodruff but he gets pulled sometime in the 4th.
-
Houser up for next inning? This is ridiculous.
-
I’ll take watching this any day over what I watched yesterday.
-
Baseball can ruin my day in such a hurry. What a love-hate type of a game.
-
Looks good but way too many pitches no thrown.

Like others have said, other than Sogard starting at SS twice already, Counsell has done a nice job with the lineups IMO. We have a deep team at some positions so you're going to see different lineups. That's perfectly fine with me. We've seen stats that show how many players it takes to get through a season (50 last year) and we have seen the success of a team like Houston who puts out different lineups and players and still rolls teams so I don't think this is much of an issue.

WI Resident Only Presale of Cubs Game Tickets
pacopete4 replied to Bombers's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
Just sell the damn tickets. We have to be able to afford our middle of the rotation free agent in a couple of years. -
There are at least 4-5 names that I would have guessed before Houser. Definitely a surprise, I know the guy has decent stuff...but I don't see how he's a better option than Williams. I feel like Williams is to the Brewers as Jeff Janis is to the Packers. Except Janis is no good.

I'm definitely not a pro athlete but I hurt my hammy a couple of summers ago and it still isn't the same two years later. Still tightens up more than it ever did before and hurts from time to time. Hammies always seem like a reoccurring injury for some reason.
-
Well this is a bit of an over-reaction. At least the injury is at a position of depth. Call up Hoover (I'd prefer Williams, but likely will be Hoover) move Jeffress to closer. There is literally 155 games left. Forgot to put the last part in blue..lo siento Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-al3oBXtVOZw/UqJi8_tNPjI/AAAAAAAACuA/_pS99JOXaEA/s1600/im-sorry-i-thought-this-was-america.jpeg

The rotation was built with the success of the pitchers from last year in mind and the hope that some of the guys (Chacin, Miley, Guerra, Suter, Woodruff etc..) would break out and be a formable back end of the rotation pieces. So far the top guys haven't pitched well and the bottom guys have been even worse. It's been a perfect storm of just flat out bad pitching. Even signing one of Cobb, Darvish, Arrieta doesn't save this team from how they have pitched to start this season. Everyone just needs to go out and do their jobs better.
