  1. Stearns projected them as starters. Your point? He filled holes left by guys leaving in free agency for cheap for a single season. He didn't mortgage the future of the team when there was not really anyone to grab. Not only that but it was a covid year so in hindsight, it turned out to be a great thing for the Brewers. The whining some fans do amazes me when most won't look at the full picture.
  2. -Why is Avi Garcia a bust? -Why does the Grisham trade look like a bomb? Lauer has looked good this season and we have seen some spurts from Urias. This one is far from over in my opinion. -Wong has been as good as advertised, if not better. -JP looks great. Shaw has been solid. -Narvaez is a stud. -The JBJ signing was always a questionable one but there wasn't much left on the market and there is a long season to go. -Most of the rest listed there are journeyman deals that you fill rosters with. Using 2020 season for any sort of indication of our GM or any GM is just not a good way to go about things. The Yelich extension is a thread of its own. It's hard to really rate that as anything as they haven't even entered the extension yet. How much did the GM have to do with it? Lots of questions there. Not only that but Yelich could very well be just fine over the length of it. Mentioning it now doesn't do much for me regarding looking at Stearns. There IS a reason we are winning A LOT of baseball games under Steans and co. I get that we are fans and we can be hard on just about anything but I also think we can't see how good it has been at times either.
  3. I also think you have to give Urias time. We moved Arcia to let him play every day and he needs to just that.
  4. I was talking to Ryan Braun at spring training one time and I can't remember what lead to him saying it but he told me that he wasn't really a baseball fan which made me kind of sad. I told my wife I doubted he was going to stick around past the contract as he was already filthy rich. I was also probably near 40 and for the first time I realized that a lot of these guys are there because they happen to be good at baseball as oppose to love it like I did. I think this occurs because it becomes a job for these guys. For us, it is entertainment. For them, it is a lot of hard work to be where they are and to stay where they are. I'd bet that there is a sense of enjoyment out of the relieving stress and pressure Braun had during his career. That being said, we are headed towards 50% capacity. A bit more and it might be curtain call time for Braunie!
  5. Absolutely bombed? A bit too early for that call.
  6. Guarantee him to the starting QB for 10 more years if he wants. But don’t kill the cap doing it. There is no more point in that. Need to be able to sign successful draft choices and dip into free agents when time is right.
  7. I mean, Stearns has to be thinking about giving him a call at this point. We just have to score more runs. Braun can help that if he wants to play baseball still.
  8. Cutting out players warming up is a bad idea. That is how a player stays loose throughout the game.
  9. I think he could have been Taysom Hill before Taysom Hill was a thing. In fact, once he signed with the Patriots, I was certain Belichick would figure out how to properly use Tebow and make the rest of the league look silly. Taysom Hill seems like the better athlete and better thrower of the football. But yeah, I agree there might be some use there. I just find it funny that he hasn't been in the league for 8 years. Now he lives next to Urban Meyer and has signed an NFL contract. A bit comical to me.
  10. I do ketchup as well. Mustard just never sits well with me and I cannot do sauerkraut.
  11. Drafting WR’s in the first round...
  12. With that body, it was only a matter of time that something went. I just don't think humans were ever meant to build muscles the way some of these guys do. Sad to hear it. Was a fun Brewers when here.
  13. If he has Garcia and Narvaez pan out this season, it will go a long way to helping him in the offensive department. Throw on top a Shaw revival and it could be a good 2021 showing for Stearns. The part that hurts is Yelich being made out of glass all of a sudden. That will kill any teams offense.
  14. Tebow back in the NFL as a TE is pretty funny to me.
  15. Braun could roll out of bed and hit dingers tomorrow if he wanted.
  16. I never like going full MLB rankings when you have a DH in one league and not in the other. Not that it changes too much but it is nice to have that perspective.
  17. The problem is that’s more so classic coach-speak than rooted in any actual probability based reasoning. That’s fine if we want to harken back to the days of “go with your gut” coaching, but the truth is the odds were pretty good Rasmussen wouldn’t have given up a run in the 9th inning with no one beginning the inning on base, and now Hader would have a chance to win you the game in the 10th by stranding the runner. The odds of winning would’ve increased significantly in that scenario. Even if Rasmussen blew the game then at least you saved an inning on Hader’s arm. ...Now lets hope Rasmussen just strikes everyone out anyway. I hope this doesn't come off snarky but please show your data/proof showing that it is statically better to hold Hader for the 10th.
  18. I don’t know how long you have been a Brewers fan but this type of post reeks like someone who hasn’t seen a lot of bad Brewers teams that had terrible pitching. We finally look like we have good guys to round out a rotation and we trade them away? No thanks.
