  1. You don’t hurt yourself financially in this situation and trading Rodgers does just that. I don’t see how letting him retire (his choice) is a negative on the Packers. The man would look absolutely foolish. Already does for being such an intelligent man.
  2. Do you really want this circus dragging into the season? We went from 13-3 to 6-10 last time despite Rodgers having a solid year and I remember players saying all the distractions hurt the team. If he wants out ship him to Denver and move on. Saying he either plays for the Packers or retires/hold out is a bluff I am sure Rodgers doesn't fear much. No circus needed. You recoup a ton of money and move on. The media will do what the media will do. Whether that’s this season or next, it’s going to be a fiasco. Build a roster that’s talented and play some football. Stay above the nonsense.
  3. Now do the breakdown of how much the Dodgers are paying to be just as good as the Brewers.
  4. The value is his stubbornness takes him away from playing for any other team and we move on with a talented roster and Love. Gute has done a great job building rosters and Rodgers is being, well, Rodgers.
  5. Let him rot(in retirement) if he doesn’t want to play. Who cares? I know I wouldn’t. I’ve enjoyed his QB play and appreciate it but some of this nonsense just has to be nipped.
  6. Dodgers 1-1 @Phillies 2-2 @Marlins 1-2 Cardinals 2-1 Braves 1-2 @Royals 1-1 @Reds 2-1 Padres 2-2 @Nationals 2-1 Tigers 1-0 I got 15-13 in the month of June.
  7. [sarcasm]Stearns doesn’t know what he is doing. Counsell can’t manage. MA is cheap.[/sarcasm] .... and we just keep rolling up teams that are supposed to be better than us!
  8. As has been pointed out numerous times, they're currently negotiating a contract extension with him 'behind the scenes'. He's doing this because he doesn't like what the offer was and it's a negotiating ploy, plain and simple. And a diva-ish ploy at that. Correct. He is a sensitive dude that is very intelligent. It could be a bad combo for the Packers as his time comes to an end.
  9. Being that he is a Wisconsin homegrown product, I'm excited that he gets this opportunity. A cool ending to a career for the guy. Hope he does well with it.
  10. [sarcasm]Just imagine what a 1st round WR would do for that defense. #1 Baby![/sarcasm]
  11. Not going to pretend one way or another on this pick but he fits a need on the defensive side of the ball and was rated well on that RAS system that Gute seems to really buy into. Hope he can be a 1B type cover corner with Alexander. That would be a lot of fun.
  12. It gets tough to be looked at as the leader of this team when you let this type of nonsense float around in the offseason. It becomes null when you are the best QB in the league and will return to putting up video game numbers in the fall but it sure can't help the locker room out much.
  13. This is where Stearns/Counsell and Co. make their money. If they continue to win despite being so banged up, it truly is something impressive. They have to be running out of fingers for the dike but you just can't count out this bunch. Next man up!
  14. Lauer. That’s it.
  15. Whaa? Can you explain why you like "the CB from Florida State" more than the CB from the SEC who actually covered the 4 WR'ers who went in the 1st round? And why this would make you done with this team? Now I understand not liking the Jordan Love pick. Fine. But in THIS case, they drafted the position you wanted, but not the guy who's got the more familiar name? I'm just FSU alum. Familiar name not relevant. Again, didn't have a first round grade from anybody. Move up in the 2nd and take them both? Just tired of these overreaches year in and year out for interior DL and secondary help, while the LBs and other positions of importance get shat upon. Not being able to keep AR happy, it's just embarrassing and exhausting....might take a 10 year break from football. #Kneejerk You might just need a snickers bar.
  16. I think people get into the MLB draft now. It's a bigger thing than say 10 years ago. But to your point, not nearly the hype of the NFL draft. There are just so many casual fans that think they can evaluate talent. Heck, there are analysts that get paid to be on TV/radio that think they can evaluate talent and really don't have a clue. Most headlines leading up to the draft and after the draft are ones to get clicks. It's become rather annoying to me. I actually avoid much of it now and I used to love to tune into the draft.
  17. I could see Godley getting another crack at starting. The walks killed him (always do) but he was effective other than that. If nothing else, he looked like he might be a fit for the pen instead of a guy like Yardley. On to Lauer. I really think we need to pump the breaks and allow the guy an opportunity.
  18. I'm the head hockey and head baseball coach here at my school. I feel your pain here. I grew up playing both sports and loved both (on top of playing football). But when it came to spring, it was time to put away the hockey gear and grab my glove and go. Now as a coach, no matter the mounting evidence about specialization, I fight parents/players who only have their son playing one thing, year-round. All I know is it is refreshing to hear of a parent that has their head in the right place when it comes to a situation like yours.
