  1. Man. We sure love to judge others. I don’t think I’ve seen any evidence that Andy is a bad father or person for that matter. His sons actions are tragic and I’m sure it’s horrible for the Reid family to be going through on top of the family that was on the other side of this selfish mistake.
  2. You could easily slide that article in the optimism thread too. That's where I originally had it. I don't know what changed my mind.
  3. You hate to see it...
  4. Debating pitch counts doesn't end anywhere realistic though. All managers: pro, college, high school, etc... have pitch limits for guys and are now going by that to determine decisions. Getting after CC for it is just, well, foolish. They are being careful and building arms up. And no, throwing before the season, while good, doesn't build your arm up for game situations. I can understand that people don't like pitch counts but I don't know a single program that doesn't have these restraints now. It just the way the game is played.
  5. Among many other threads and posts.
  6. I have been on Counsell for not using Hader as he did in the 2018 season too but the more I thought about it, the more factors I could come up with as to why they might not be. The biggest one for me is that you see these multiple inning guys burn out much faster it seems (see Miller - STL). It just never seems to end well.
  7. I mean it is a bad mistake by Counsell but Rasmussen has been pretty stinky. At some point he’s gotta throw strikes and get guys out.
  8. Short term for sure. I hardly doubt that Stearns is checking in on guys he traded away or let go regularly. I'm sure at some point they reflect back on things but we fans have nothing else to do I guess so we dwell over box scores and stats daily.
  9. I loved the show but was a bit disappointed by the exit. I don't know why but it felt empty.
  10. Was there anything in the contract for next season? I know it is way early but the Brewers will have this hole again next season if Shaw isn't around. I am wondering if there is a way he would want to come back again that is affordable to the Brewers? I am sure he will be looking to get a longer-term deal if he does continue to do well but he and Yelich seem to have hit it off as teammates and it'd be nice to get some roster stability going.
  11. I think because things have been pretty good around the organization for a bit now, we look for any instance to say look, they messed up. Even though we continue to win and compete in our division, we all know we want a World Series, and even that probably wouldn't be enough for a lot of fans. Stearns and co. have done an incredible job building rosters since taking over, minus last year's strange circumstance year. Do I think we could've taken a shot on Knebel for $5M? Yeah, I do. Am I looking to rake Steans and co. over the coals because we didn't? Nope. Hindsight will always be 20/20 and as long as the Brewers keep putting out talented rosters for me to enjoy, I'm not going to fret over some of these things as much.
  12. He struck out two batters in his appearance yesterday. Has 6 on the season in 6 innings to go along with 4 walks. He won't have a 0.00 ERA all season but he's been pretty dang good mixing in all his pitches for strikes. He almost looks starter-like.
  13. I know we always want to ship a guy out right away after he is struggling but you do have to have some patience and let guys work through things sometimes. That being said, if this wasn't the end, the next outing should be if Yardley were to struggle again.
  14. Didn't we just trade for two MLB bullpen arms? We might want to make a roster adjustment. Yardley is outta whack to start the season.
