  1. Once Braun returns in July/August, we will be just fine.
  2. Nate Reuvers going pro. Just can't see it but good luck.
  3. We currently last in OPS in the mid .500's and we are 3-3. I will gladly take that and know that we will eventually tick the other direction with the offense.
  4. What??? I kinda get it. I grew up as a Cubs fan. They were my NL team. I know a LOT of Cubs fans. My College GF and their family had season tickets to the Cubs. There were endless stories of 90+ year old Cub fans wanting to see ONE WS, I could stomach it. But I've taken just as much joy in watching the franchise continue to underperform since then, and the Brewers playing a huge role in that. This. I know a few Cubs fans that would be happy for Brewers fans if we ever got one. They’re not all terrible people on that side. And at the time, they weren’t as obnoxious as they have become. So it was a little bit easier to semi-be happy for them. Now, screw em.
  5. I totally get that the Cubs won a WS. In some ways, I was happy for them at the time. But that team was supposed to win even more and it is nice to know that the Brewers have been an absolute thorn in their side when it comes to them having any other success.
  6. Imagine how upset we would be if the Brewers lineup read Happ-Bryant-Rizzo-Contreras-Baez the past few years and have zero playoff wins since 2017. I think we have the Brewers and Orlando Arcia to thank for that. Game 163 put the nail in that "dynasty" in the making. And I love nothing more.
  7. 2nd Pfizer yesterday afternoon. No other side effects other than a little bit of a sore arm today.
  8. There are no sure things when it comes to pitching but gambling $10M on Knebel was fine by me.
  9. Who? What do you mean, who? He was loaded with controllable talent. Yelich, Hader, Woodruff, Davies, Burnes, Peralta, Knebel...plus more. He had a huge chunk of that team that was controllable and 25-26 age range. If you upped that to age 28 you would be covering a large majority of the contributors. He had quite a few decent prospects in the minors at the time on the verge of MLB time (Hiura/Grisham/Williams). It certainly was not an “all in” type year in 2018...far from it. It is certainly questionable if they end up worse for the third year in a row post 2018. But again...it’s a bit early to assume that will happen...way too early. His strong 2018 team and your “young core” of contributors are mostly two different things. You may want to refresh your memory of who contributed to the success on that team and check their age. Lots of older guys and quite a few transactions made to make that team have the success it did.
  10. Considering I can find a 4 game stretch similar to the one he just had smack dab in the middle of his MVP 2018 season, while he had been scorching hot in August mind you, I don't think there's enough evidence to proclaim him "most definitely not fine" quite yet. I’d agree with this if my eyes didn’t see what they did in 2020.
  11. The average innings per start in 2019 was 5.18. If Freddy gives us 5 innings, we are doing alright.
  12. What a great start by Peralta. Awesome to see. Only issue was the walks but his stuff is just so damn good.
  13. I mean, there is a reason we won the 2020 championship.
  14. If nothing else, it brought some life to the boards. Been boring around here for a bit now.
  15. Who?
  16. Hats off to a very clutch performer for us over the last few playoff runs. I hope he does well.
  17. I keep asking myself, have we see more guys improve or even hit their norms under Haines or have we had more guys fall under the expectations? I think it has become apparent enough now that under Haines, we have not got enough out of the players we have signed under Haines and that is the problem if you are a coach. Maybe it all doesn't fall on him as it never should with coaching, but it is his responsibility to get the most out of our batters. He hasn't done that so far and after a month of the season, if we don't see a dramatic improvement, he should be fire. If we do see that improvement, then fine, keep doing your job.
  18. When was the last time Keston played 1B before this year? Seriously? Ever? Yelich to 1B makes sense if he can handle it. He is the worst OFer of the 4 we currently have and he's a huge target. I doubt they make a move like that without giving him a spring training to work it out though. Throwing him out there now wouldn't be wise. It isn't nearly as ludicrous as you "hinted" at. It is ludicrous as it was stated that it’s the most obvious move they could make. And I’ll stand by it.
