  1. So either way, Cappy being on this team is really not a big deal. Other than it will draw an extra 10 people to come to the park each night!
  2. Pick whichever one that you cannot stash in AAA. If Presley can be optioned down there more easily then pick Kirk. If its the other way around, pick the other guy. Keep as much depth as possible because we just don't know who is going to pan out (if any of these guys).
  3. Thank you for this. This argument gets old in a hurry and hopefully this sheds more than enough light on the subject.
  4. Should I get ready for his bobble head day? Haha part of me loves this
  5. If the goal was winning the WS this year, I would agree. But it's not, so I don't see the downside in letting Scooter have plenty of ABs vs LHP. Downside is zero, upside is his value goes up significantly if he can prove he can play full time at 2B. Scoot is 14 for 113 vs LHP with 2 XBH, 1 walk, and 34 strikeouts vs. LHP. 113 AB's is not a HUGE sample size, but at the same time, this is like putting another bad hitting pitcher in your lineup. He's been horrible in his minor league career as well.
  6. If the goal was winning the WS this year, I would agree. But it's not, so I don't see the downside in letting Scooter have plenty of ABs vs LHP. Downside is zero, upside is his value goes up significantly if he can prove he can play full time at 2B. Putting players in the best scenarios to succeed has nothing to do with going for a WS. He's had many of chances to hit lefties and doesn't. It's okay. He's on the good end of the platoon. His value will be just fine if a team is in the market for a 2B with okay defense.
  7. Gennett will not face many lefties this season and shouldn't. Let him swat around RHP and that's that. The bench guys can take care of lefties for him AND probably give us better defense. It's not like Scooter is that great defensively. People always want him to be more than what he is and they will continue to be greatly disappointed.
  8. He can prove that he is this season by staying healthy and producing. Let's not forget how horrible he was to begin the year. While we can remember the mvp finalist year, we also have to take all of it in account, including injuries. He's done well in ST so far so hopefully he will be a top catcher once again so we can continue to stack young talent.
  9. Can't speak for everyone but my comment about the refs was as to how they called the entire game. It was officiated differently than every game I watched this season and I mean that for both sides. I think part of the reason that play was so sloppy was because of how the refs allowed the game play to be. Now, am I mad at the officials? More so disappointed in lack of consistency. Mad at the Badgers? A little. Only because they blew a golden opportunity at playing a 1-seed in the elite 8.
  10. Perez put up solid minor league numbers in 2013 in AA: .301/.325/.423 at age 22 and in AAA in 2014: .287/.331/.401 at age 23. Those are much better numbers than Rivera put up at those levels and everyone seems ready to hand him the utility job. Don't let your disdain for my opinions cloud your view of Perez. He's not a bad player. Guys don't get major league looks at age 21 like Perez did without ability. If he ever learned to take a walk I would happily have him on this team but he just doesn't. Hopefully he can at AAA this season
  11. The return of Capuano. Can't wait!
  12. How does one obtain a VPN?
  13. Maybe we should assign a person to take Lucroys shoes off for him. Just to be safe.
  14. I'm really glad a lot of people on these boards are not in charge of this trade. Panic. The trade will be made when the best deal is out there. We know like 5% of what actually is going on. Relax.
  15. Well good thing he's under control through 2020. Maybe we can get that knee fluid build up under control by then to trade him.
  16. Refs were horrid. Let the game be played different than any game I've watched this season. Disappointed now but hats off to this team for making it as far as they can. Hopefully Nigel is back for another run.
  17. The hole key to watching spring training stats is not to be too reactionary towards them. Good or bad.
  18. So you want to throw around his Cactus league numbers but make no mention of his horrific batter statistics over the last 2-3 years in the actual major leagues?
  19. What other team can say this? I'm thinking Duke, North Carolina, Kentucky all might but unsure of how many.
  20. Is it just me or does Wily Peralta look even bigger this year? And not in a good way...
  21. This season was a success in just making the tournament by finishing top 4 of the Big Ten Conference. This winning games in the tourney stuff is hilarious to me. I know it's bothering the Iowa fans that are all around me because this was supposed to be Iowa's big year and the year Wisconsin finally took a step back. A lot of chirping to begin the season about Wisconsin basketball. The job Greg Gard did this season and the leadership of the few veterans that we have in nothing short of amazing. I hope they knock the snot out of ND!
  22. It's looking more and more like the Brewers are all in this season
  23. I was driving back home and had zero reception for much of the game. Finally got close enough to Waterloo and with 2 seconds left I got to watch the magic happen. What a great win for this team going forward, not only this season but with them being younger for next year as well. Hopefully they can knock off ND as well.
  24. I was bought a Milwaukee power drill by my father in law. He said I'll never have to ever buy another in my life. Love it so far as I bought a house and have had to use it quite a bit.
  25. Really? You really think Stearns only has interest in people that have played for Houston? Come on man, be better than this.
