  1. How do we get the MLB playoffs to be on network TV? I feel that we are missing the boat on getting more fans involved with the game when we have to put these games on channels like Fox Sports 1 and TBS. To me, it is crazy that the MLB hasn't made this change to get FOX, ABC, NBC, CBS to carry their games.
  2. I am very excited to see what a new pitching coaching and staff does with what we have here in Milwaukee. I think we see that all too often that pitchers have greater success away from Milwaukee. Both Yo and Estrada went to American League teams and out performed their career numbers. That, to me, says a lot about our coaches.
  3. My guess is that for any of these guys, any job that doesn't have the title of "general manager" is a stepping stone job in their minds - whether it's in Milwaukee, Chicago, or New York. If these guys perform well enough to warrant a promotion to the next level, I'll be thrilled. Obviously time will tell, but a very encouraging direction being pursued by the franchise at this point. Yeah, I'll tack on. That is such a negative view towards the Brewers organization. Is it the Red Sox or Yankees? Nope. But it is still only one of thirty positions in the world. It is a highly regarded position and if this guys does have success, you just never know, he may want to continue to build a legacy here in Milwaukee. If not, we search for the next rising star GM like every other franchise must do. But either way, it is a great thing to have these young minds, who people highly regard in baseball, working for the Brewers moving forward.
  4. Or we could just fix the service time problems to be able to get our best players up in the majors and have teams control them for longer deals. Maybe make their first deals larger.
  5. Another thing to consider with expansion is diluted talent pool. There are already plenty of players who are just, not that good, in the major leagues. Adding two more teams brings even more of those types of players into the league. More chances for guys like Logan Schaffer and so forth. This would be a big reason why I'm against it. The game(s) would be better if you had the supreme talent on the field and expanding does not do that. I think NHL-NBA when I think this. The more teams they've added, the worse their product has become.
  6. I guess I didn't see the prospect added in but I sure would like to think that Arcia is a better player and will have more value than this guy. Otherwise boy, we are in trouble.
  7. I like this idea but giving up Davis and Peralta better net a very good prospect. Are you guys talking about Maikel Franco? The player that's already about as valuable as Davis and Peralta combined and he's only 22? His WAR is 1.7 for a whole season where played in a sand box in Philly. He had a negative dWar. I'm not trying to sell the guy short but I'm just not sure I'd give up Davis & Peralta for the guy. Davis and a lesser player? Sure. But Peralta is too young to put in a trade for a 3B that could be a very similar hitter to Davis.
  8. I like this idea but giving up Davis and Peralta better net a very good prospect.
  9. I guess the only fair way would be to have every play the same amount of games, home and away, against the same opponents. I would be in favor of there just being a NL and AL and add in some wild cards. The division stuff really is fun but honestly, maybe in this route it becomes a more fair playing field for all.
  10. So why not just play one game series for the entire playoffs? Seed it like the NCCA basketball tourney and let the games begin. I'm all for it! "October Madness"
  11. Good god no. Just no. What's the point?
  12. NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
  13. 4-8 team divisions? No thank you. DH in both leagues? Yes, please. I'll take 8-4 team divisions though. Top two teams get a bye series while the next two division winners host two wild card teams in a 3 game series in which the division winner hosts all 3 games (if necessary). Next series can be either 5 or 7 games, then 7 games to get to the WS and 7 games to win the WS. ROUND #1 (Division winners #1 & #2 Bye) Division Winner #3 vs. Wildcard #2 & Division Winner #4 vs. Wildcard #1 ROUND #2: Division Winner #1 vs. Lowest Remaining Seed, Division Winner #2 vs. Highest Remaining Seed
  14. Sedar staying is nice but he needs to either be put back at 1B or given another position. He just made too many very poor choices in sending runners during the season. Can't have that. Runs are too important for silly stuff like that.
  15. Always interesting to think how this plays out if there is no one game play in and only one wild card. Pressure put on those three teams and who knows how the cookie crumbles.
  16. Logan, knock it off. It is what it is.
  17. CC is as low as he can go. Sign him up Doug, Stearns.
  18. If they expand, please add the DH to the NL as well. So sick of having different rules for different leagues.
  19. Obviously we all wanted a different season but yes, lots to be excited about. Hopefully an exciting offseason as well.
  20. So we have quite a few guys that we can see in our rotation. Maybe none of them are #1's but they could be a solid group. Since next year could be a lost year, why not pair them up and try to keep innings in check throughout the year. Keep 13 pitchers but have the starter throw 4-5 innings and then the partner throw 2-3 and flip flop them every other start or every few starts. Maybe it's a ludicrous idea but maybe it allows you to keep the best set of pitchers getting MLB experience while we are in a rebuild. Keep the number of pitches down for our younger guys. Even if we moved Garza, we have arms to fill in his place. Could get a look at Smith in this scenario as well. Nelson - Wagner Peralta* - Cravy/Blazek Jungmann - Pena Garza* - Smith Daives- Lopez Jeffress / Knebel / Barrios or Krod* *hopefully or possibly traded in the offseason
  21. Pitchers per inning would probably be a better indication of why some of these guys flame out or get injured anyways. Surprise MLB stat "geeks" haven't adapted to this.
  22. I did not realize he was having such a great year, at age 39, impressive.
  23. That is a situation where I would've hoped the Brewers organization stepped in and helped this man cover the bills for his son.
  24. It's gotta be a lower end deal because just looking through his stats, while they are good, they are not great. The bat flips are fun and all but can he actually play major league baseball? I guess that's why there are people paid to make those calls.
  25. Get out!... while you still can! (First lesson; if you see something in blue, it is said sarcastically or joking. This place is addicting because of the great people who post her and everyones love for the Brewers. Welcome!
