    You know what Ryan Braun can do to regain my support? Piss in a cup every day for the rest of his playing career and still put up a .900+ OPS. Talk is meaningless at this point.

    He's not a politician. He doesn't have to answer questions about this if he doesn't want to. From this point forward he can refuse to answer any more questions about PED's and there is nothing anyone can do about it. It's not like his contract can be voided because he refuses to answer questions. In fact, if I was Braun that's exactly what I'd do. Since I'm pretty sure that full disclosure would be far worse than not answering any more questions about this.

    I don't need a speech/apology from Braun since I assume he will lie again anyway. I'll never be a big fan of his going forward but I hope he's able to play at a high level when he gets back.

    Him and Mark Grace were absolutely loved out here, there is a thread over on DBBP (Dbacks forum) dedicated to "boycotting" The Dbacks until they were brought back on the air. They have always pushed that "cutesy" carnival type atmosphere out here so I suppose they fit in well. Personally I thought they were both worse than nails on a chalkboard Where is Sutton now? He disappeared like a mafia informant from what I can tell.

    When you start with the premise that the Brewers intend to make a playoff run in 2014, what options do they have for the OF logjam this year? Gomez is the starting CF and Aoki is the starting RF. They want to keep Aoki for 2014 because he's cheap and they know he's an above average hitter at the MLB level. Shaefer, Davis, and Gindl will either split time, or one or more will send back to AAA. And it's not like any of Shaefer, Davis or Gindl are the second coming of Ryan Braun.

    People are acting like Braun committed murder. The $10 voucher is beyond what I expected and a very nice gesture. But I still wanted one night of free beer. Free beer = the only reason I go to wedding receptions.

    Except that iirc, the Brewers wouldn't even have any control of an event like that. Sportservice pays a huge fee to run concessions at MP. The Brewers can pay Sportservice for the beer so it's free to us. Problem solved. Also, I'm aware of the 1974 10 cent beer night. But this is 2013, not 1974 and I'm confident that Wisconsin residents would peacefully enjoy their free beer without incident at the park or drunk driving afterward. "Please drink responsibly."

    At this point I see no downside to starting Scooter against right handed pitching. Even if he stinks he will be getting valuable MLB plate appearances.

    Good defense can be developed. Strong arms and athleticism cannot. I love this trade.

    It was basically a plea bargain. Accept 65 games. Avoid something worse. Drop any appeal.

    This is the best outcome to a bad situation. Braun serves his suspension during a lost season and the Brewers go for it in 2014. I'd say this means Lohse and Yo will not be traded.

    What happens with Lohse and Yo will tell us whether the Brewers intend to make a playoff push next year. I think the Brewers will keep both, ARam and resign Hart and go for it.

    BTW - if you ever need to be reminded what a great game baseball is, go to game with a 9 year old who gets a foul ball and feels like he was handed a bar of gold. And then carries the ball with him everywhere for the next two weeks.

    Two weeks ago my 9 nine year old son got a foul ball hit by Juan Francisco (it was given to him a by guy two rows behind us--and much appreciated). My son would love to get the ball signed by Juan. We went to the game this last Friday early with ball in hand (vs. the Marlins) but did not see any Brewers signing autos before the game. Does anyone know if I sent the ball to Juan at Miller Park with a postage paid return envelope if he'd sign and return it? I don't know when else we will get to a game at Miller Park in August because my son has to go to California to visit his mother (he lives here full time--visits there in the summer for a month). On the one hand, I can't believe that Juan gets too much fan mail and it's not like someone could turn around and sell the ball for $100 or more like perhaps Jean Segura or Ryan Braun. On the other hand, I think the Brewers players would get deluged with stuff from sports card shops if they all did this. Anyone have any suggestions?
