  1. It's pretty obvious that Yuni B is 100% to blame for the season going the way it is.
  2. That's what I'm thinking. I'd like to see them play about 6 out of every 7 games (and obviously also have off whatever days there are no games scheduled). I'm not talking about a Stephen Strasburg type shut down. I just don't want to see these two sputtering for gas in September and still get run out there every day.
  3. So it's a lost season with no hope for the playoffs. Two of the bright spots have been Jean Segura and Carlos Gomez. Last season Segura played until the end of the MLB season, played winter ball, and now is in the middle of another MLB season. With the season lost, would it prudent to start giving him regular rest so he doesn't burn out? If not, at a minimum the Brewers need to sit him whenever he has a tweak or something that's bothering him. I just don't want to see him get hurt due to fatigue during a lost season. You can make the same argument for Gomez I guess. For the record, as of this writing the Brewers have played 91 games. Segura has played in 89 and Gomez has played in 86.
  4. Yo working hard to get the Brewers some prospects.
  5. I love Logan Schafer. Bordering on man crush.
  6. When you bring Yuni B into a game as a "defensive replacement" you officially have defensive problems.
  7. I agree 100%. Yo is not getting the Brewers Tyler Skaggs in this, or any other, lifetime.
  8. There are a lot of teams that would kill for an up the middle core of Lucroy, Segura, Gomez. And throw a future hall of famer into the outfield (Braun). But--It's the starting pitching stupid. If the Brewers could just have two of their young starters pan out into solid starter quality next season they could be a playoff team (Peralta, Rogers, Thornburg, Hellweg, Fiers, Burgos, etc.).
  9. Good article. And this, right here, is why those pining for a full scale tear down are not going to get it:
  10. This is the most troubling part of the story. I get how fans and writers could have it wrong but the Brewers FO should have known what his status was all along.
  11. I think the Brewers would be better off playing Yovani Gallardo at 1b (on the days he's not pitching of course) rather than Yuni. Gallardo has an OPS of .719 right now to Yuni B's .569. I doubt Gallardo would play 1B any worse than Yuni. Other pitchers outhitting Yuni would be Marco Estrada, Alfredo Figaro and Donovan Hand.
  12. Current OPS: .889 Jean Segura .585 Starlin Castro Amazing.
  13. I don't see why they would want to at this point. There really isn't any upside to Hart being a Brewer in 2014. It depends on how Mark A and Doug M view 2014. If they think the team should be competitive (and I'm sure they will) it makes sense to sign Hart for one year. It's not like the Brewers have premium prospects ready to step in at 1B next year.
  14. Most contracts are not insured.
  15. In Spring Training Hart was saying his rehab was going really well and he expected to be back early--in late April. Those were words out of his own mouth. Edit - Found it. This is the from February 20th on Rotoworld:
  16. Crappy game tonight but Jean Segura provides a bright spot as usual. I had him timed at 3.9 seconds home to first on his infield single in the 9th. He doesn't look it with his thick lower half but the dude can fly.
  17. I read that 3 times and have no idea what the story is about.
  18. The 3rd base coach does not ever tell a runner on third what to do, he is standing behind him probably. It is called from the bench and isn't that bad of a call considering the situation. Sedar relays the signals from RR. And it was not "that bad a call considering the situation." It was asinine. With the infield in you are getting thrown at home 9 of 10 times (or more). And if the ball gets past the infield you can walk home.
  19. Telly interviewing Ed Sedar. How do you not ask, "What the [heck] were you doing sending Weeks on contact with the infield in?"
  20. The sacrifice was crap and going on contact with the infield in even worse. ***?
