  1. That's a very immature response from Cashman. But I guess that's how GM's act when they see a $100 million insurance claim floating out the window.
  2. Agreed. This is brutal. I'm trying to focus on the positive though.
  3. I'm sure Corey Hart sees money flying out the window. A complete washout of a 2013 season probably means a 1 year make-good contract in 2014. And I'd rather get kicked in the nuts than see Yuni B start at first again. AAA 1b filler could give better production than Yuni. ABYB.
  4. ABYB. Does Yuni B have compromising photos of Doug Melvin or Mark A.? That's the only reason I can think of as to why he's still with the team.
  5. I believe the most reliable defensive metrics are proprietary to the teams that compile them. Unfortunately, we don't get to see them. As a defensive minded baseball fan it aggravates me that we learn so little about defense from statistics. Fielding percentage as a stat is pretty useless.
  6. I think you've surmised the situation accurately. I think the desire to get Gennett in the lineup and Weeks out says much more about Weeks than Gennett. There comes a point when you need to get a guy out of a lineup who is posting a .500 OPS and is a poor defender (Weeks) even if the alternative would provide nothing more than a marginal gain (if at all). Edit - and now that Weeks has a 1.333 OPS in June (only 14 PA's though) he might provide more upside going forward than Gennett.
  7. This is the bright side of a crappy team. I'm looking forward to some cheap tickets for premium seats come August and September. I'm glad I don't plan ahead with tickets.
  8. They lose ability to spend the money that would have been slotted for the first round pick.
  9. I hope the Brewers get a future cost-controlled star with their first round pick.
  10. I personally think this is not going to end well for MLB.
  11. Would you rather a player ground into a double play than strike out? A strike out is an out. That's all. I want Brewers who make as few outs as possible. I don't care if striking out is how the out is made.
  12. Would someone please come over to my house and kick me violently in the nuts? It would be more enjoyable than watching this game. We don't even have Segura to watch.
  13. I bring my own peanuts and some bottles of water. But still like get a soda at the park.
  14. How much is the brisket? It sounds good. I don't eat a lot at Miller Park. Usually just peanuts and soda. The brats are absurdly priced and of poor quality.
  15. It's a lot easier to name the players who are not whipping boys: 1. Aoki 2. Segura 3. Braun 4. Ramirez 5. Gomez 6. Henderson 7. Badenhop This includes the coaching staff and front office.
  16. What the ****? Lohse giving up 4 HR's? This team makes me sick. At least the uni's look cool.
  17. As players worse than Weeks you named two catchers (who play the most difficult defensive position on the field and a position at which you are lucky to get good production) and two players (Yuni B and Alex Gonzalez) who should not be starting at all. In my opinion, Weeks needs to sit for a good long time. His alternative may not hit better than him but I guarantee that either Bianchi or Gennett will field better than Weeks does.
  18. The given reason for why most radio teams don't have strict p-b-p and color roles is because the p-b-p guy has to talk so much on radio as compared to TV. He needs a break every few innings.
  19. Most MLB radio teams do it the Brewers way. The Cubs way is the exception, which I'm sure was prompted by the fact that there was zero chance Ron Santo could do play by play.
  20. The pitching has been frustrating but if you can't get excited to watch Segura, Braun, Gomez, and Aoki I think you should look for another sport to follow. This team has talent.
  21. Vanilla is fine with me. Listen to most of the clowns doing MLB radio and you will have a better appreciation of Joe. If I was a Yankee fan I'd want to rupture my own eardrums. John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman? Yikes. I think a play by play guys first rule should be "do no harm." Joe follows that rule nicely.
