  1. Why do the Fox Sports Wisconsin girls all have stripper first names and no last name?
  2. Axford in a game the Brewers could win? Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
  3. The only reason I'm looking forward to watching this game is Jean Segura.
  4. It's people like Jean Segura that make me love baseball. He has become "must see TV" when he plays. As of now, 13 SB and only 2 caught stealing. That's ridiculous. My concern is that he will wear down in the second half due his winter ball play this last offseason, and generally not having played this much baseball before.
  5. Question: Would you rather the Brewers have Jean Segura or Starlin Castro? I think most would take Segura, which is amazing given Castro's pedigree/hype. Castro signed a seven year $60 million contract last year, which bought out four arbitration seasons and three free agent seasons.
  6. I love me some Jean Segura. But the Brewers are at least a year away from extending him.
  7. And there was rejoicing . . .
  8. I love BA but I think he will be on to a better MLB gig like Vasgersian and Sutton. But at least Daron Sutton is available again.
  9. I never even knew what NYCE was.
  10. I'm 42 and the first time I learned that famous athletes could die was when Thurman Munson died in 1979. I guess I was a year too young to learn about Lyman Bostock.
  11. Just announced 1 year at $4 million (with a possible $2 million in incentives). That's pretty low dollars for someone with his upside. I imagine his medicals are really sketchy. This had to be why Melvin had no interest.
  12. Personally, I think passing on Marcum on a one year deal is a mistake. There will be injuries and ineffectiveness with the new kids such that having a veteran presence will be missed. Time will tell if I'm right or wrong.
  13. His fielding is exactly why it's a good thing he played in the DWL. He needs to work on his defense and playing actual meaningful games is the best way to become a better fielder. This is especially true given that he only recently converted to shortstop.
  14. Marcum apparently looking for a 2 year deal in the 2/12 to 2/16 range. If Doug Melvin passes that up I will not be happy (unless Marcum has horrible medicals). Why? His innings pitched in the last three years has been 195, 200, 124. He's no ironman but I wouldn't just assume he could only go 120 innings in 2013.
  15. Only if you have plans to kill yourself. Initial reports say it's a suicide.
  16. Agreed. Anyone who thinks that Gamel would return something really useful is dreaming.
  17. Anyone who is certain that Segura will be the starting SS for the Brewers all season is a fool. He might well be. I hope he is. But the Brewers have to have plan B. I like Alex Gonzalez for that Plan B.
  18. pirates are paying Barmes $5+ million to be their starting SS $5.5 million for a 33 year old with an OPS+ of 66. Brilliant! But then the Pirates are made of money with a rich tradition of winning baseball so it's all good.
  19. A .682 OPS and 78 OPS+ in 2012 suggests that Michael Young is now terrible. At his age (36 for 2013) he might well be cooked. I hope that the Phillies check for a fork in his back when they perform his physical.
  20. That's crazy money for a guy who might well put up an ERA+ between 100 and 120 for the duration of his contract.
  21. If he re-signs with the Brewers he knows he's not starting if Segura plays decently.
