  1. And what exactly does "stripping the title" do? The Astros take down a banner, that's it. It accomplishes nothing. They could leave the banner up, but add a secondary banner that is permanently attached that says, "CHEATED" or something like that, so future generations will go to the ballpark and ask their grand-dads and grand-moms, "Papa, why does that sign say "CHEATED?" I'm only half-serious.
  2. I recently joined a facebook group that interests me. Last night, I made a post, hung around for a half hour or so reading responses from people, and then logged off and went to bed. This morning, I wake up and see that my post has been deleted. An admin made a comment that said, "I gave you four hours to edit your post and you ignored it, so I deleted your post. Feel free to re-post with the proper edits." Okay, first of all, I never saw any comment, notification, or ANYTHING from this admin. Secondly, I was SLEEPING! If he gave me four hours during the overnight hours, how the heck am I supposed to respond and make an edit? I thought it was very unfair and just a tiny bit of iron-fisted power trip by that admin. I know, first world problems . . . .
  3. I haven't seen anyone mention this (unless I missed it, which is entirely possible !) but will Hinch, Luhnow, and (presumably) Cora be suspended for just this season or will the suspension not begin until they are actually hired by someone?
  4. I'm likely heading to Laughlin or Vegas on Friday or Saturday and was going to do my usual NFC championship bet when the Packers are playing. I usually bet the money line on the Packer opponent so then, no matter what happens, I win. Either I win some money or the Packers are going to the Super Bowl so that lost money was well worth it. 2015 when Seattle beat them (damn it, Bostick!!) I scored $200 from my $100 bet. Well, plan might change this year. With San Francisco being overwhelming money line favorites of -350 or so (depending on the casino), I would net a whopping $25-30 instead. Not really worth the bet. And I'm not touching the points or the point spread. Oh, well! Go Pack Go!
  5. Growing up, we went to Pizza Ville in Fond du Lac all the time. It was the best I ever had as a kid. I've went to Cranky Pat's a couple of times. It was also very good. I have to put a shout out to probably my all-time favorite: Mabe's Pizza in Decorah, IA (I believe there is one in Prairie du Chien, too, but it may have closed.) OMG, the BEST, Jerry. The BEST!
  6. As the credits rolled, I leaned in to my wife and said, "Okay, do you think they got everybody this time? I mean, this is now the FOURTH movie in the saga that, when the credits rolled, we were led to believe that the rebels got everyone." Overall, it was fun, frantic, and entertaining. I was surprised that my emotions got to me several times, tears rolling down my cheek. Why? I don't really know. Maybe it was the realization that this was the last movie???
  7. This is a very interesting debate and it's kind of interesting to read all the different perspectives on instant replay. May I ask a question related to the end of the game? I watched them show all the replay angles but waited and waited and never saw the OVERHEAD cam that runs on those wires. I thought that would have been a great view, if they got the shot, to see if the ball got over the goal line or not. Did anybody else see that camera angle and I just missed it? Or was the snow coming down too much and they couldn't get the shot? Or maybe something else? It was just something I thought about on Sunday and never got a chance to ask about until tonight. Thoughts?
  8. When I go to Phoenix to watch a ball game (Brewers visiting there or not), I still refer to Chase Field as Bank One Ballpark. I know, it's just a different bank name and Field instead of Park, but I thought Bank One Ballpark sounded better and less corporate, if that makes sense. It just rolled off the tongue better, in my opinion. And, I agree with others. If they get rid of that bridge between the M and the B, I'd be fine with it. Right now, I find that part distracting.
  9. Pretty good game six going on tonight!
  10. Or one of the best!!!!!
  11. Before I even read the replies, I've got two friends here in Arizona who are both huge Cleveland Browns fans. My wife and I bought this book for each of them a couple of years ago. They laughed at the joke, at least. But I know it also pains them very much.
  12. 3rd & 7 Run a route for 6 yards. Catches pass and immediately gets tackled. I hate how receivers are so dependent on YAC.
  13. It’s nice to see with Graham, for sure!
  14. Well, well, well, another turnover! Time to capitalize, boys!
  15. I'd be interested, but I'm in Arizona. Not gonna quite make it up there soon!
  16. I’ll probably fire up MLB AUDIO and listen to Uecker (assuming he’s on tonight.) Ernie Johnson and Ron Darling are boring as heck. And Johnson should just stick to hoops. That said, I’ll try to sync up the audio stream to the video even if that means I’m a bit behind real-time. If I’m not on here much, have fun everybody. I’ll probably check in after the game.
  17. So thankful that our school district is on fall break for the next two weeks. (Last year, too, for that game 163.) I'd be going nuts if I had to teach today, anticipating going home to watch the game. Enjoy it, Brewer fans! Just soak it in!
  18. Now THAT I like, sveumrules! Awesome sauce! Good read!
  19. Yeah, I think that would be the only way he throws. Otherwise, might as well save the arm for Tuesday. And I MIGHT be convinced not to use him at all tomorrow, to be honest.
  20. Two weeks ago, I scored 75-1 odds of Brewers winning the World Series.
  21. I live in Arizona and haven’t really screamed for Something the Dbacks have done in a game since I was At game 7 of the 2001 World Series. Until tonight, that is. Sure would be nice if they could finish this one off.
  22. Ooof. Well, I can't hit the record and I botched a few others, but I've got them going to the World Series. Hope that one sticks! I still like my surprising and disappointing player selections.
  23. Last season's graph was pretty awesome, too. I wish I still had that one saved to my computer.
  24. Seeing Burnes succeed last night was great. But it was against the Pirate's less than optimum hitters on their roster who were batting in a 10-1 game and just (more or less) playing through the string and trying to get to the post-game spread and/or their hotel room at that point. If Burnes were to be put on the post-season roster, I would need to see "Good Burnes" in some higher leverage situations first. And with only 8 games left, we might not see enough of those situations to make a fair judgment on him. My opinion, at this point, would be to just wait until 2020.
