  1. to me, those are not County Stadium seats. They were put in for the last 10 years or so of the ballpark's existence. I have 2 sets of seats from County Stadium. One pair is the red seats, designating "box seats." The other is an original green wood set from the '50s. They probably have lead paint on them but, oh well! [Yes, there is a hint of snobbiness in my opening line, but with a great big wink of my eye, as well. Those were the "rich people" seats. Red and, especially, green seats were for the common man.]
  2. 2 @ TOR 1-1 3 @ CIN 1-2 4 vs PHI 3-1 3 vs STL 2-1 3 @ WAS 1-2 3 vs CIN 2-1 4 vs NYM 2-2 3 @ TB 3-0 15-10 wouldn't be too bad of a month. They gotta find a way to start winning against Cincinnati.
  3. Wow, I really expected at least one post in this thread about how losing a 16-inning game that could've been won a bunch of times could cost us the playoffs.
  4. I'm guessing it has something to do with the fact that the A's have outscored opponents by over 100 runs and we're only in June. That's what I came up with for a guess when I was trying figure the same thing out earlier this evening.
  5. yeah, a nice start tonight. But look at where we're playing and who's on the mound for us. Three runs will NOT be enough. Period.
  6. the router is a Netgear 7550 that is issued through our phone company. The slowdown happened again yesterday and, after a reboot of the router, it's back to normal.
  7. Shocked. Just shocked. RIP.
  8. of course, WAR didn't exist back then.
  9. Site has been back to the crawl for me for the last 2 days. Even cleared the cache and other stuff. Anybody else? edit: Nevermind, it appears to have cleared up this morning with a router reset and a few other things that I tried overnight.
  10. No, no, no, those NFL times here in Arizona/Pacific Time Zone absolutely ROCK! I love getting up on Sunday morning and the pregame shows are already on in full force. The first games are over by early afternoon and the late games are done well before supper time. I can still do something with my day!
  11. I was going to post something similar to this one this AM. Split basically said the same thing! I think that it is tremendous that all three players happened to attend the event. That shows that they care. If their expenses were taken care of too, wouldn't that, basically, be saying to the world that they're ready to sign since it'd be against NCAA rules to accept an expenses-paid trip for their sport? What a great story that they could potentially have! They all, probably, met at some all-America event or something but they were all together as they go drafted, they can go through the minors together and they can come up to the majors together. It's almost Yankees-esque what with Jeter, Posada, Rivera coming up together. This could be really, REALLY exciting for us as fans. I am really thinking that the Brewers will do all that they can to sign these guys. It could be the start of something really special.
  12. CHC (1-0) MIN (2-0) @ MIN (1-1) @ PIT (2-1) @ NYM (1-2) CIN (2-1) @ARZ (3-1) @COL (0-3) WSH (2-1) COL (2-2) 16-12 I really don't see much success in Colorado.
  13. Good for the Red Sox. Why do people always assume that we will get Morales?. Won't other teams possibly be interested in signing him too? I keep reading things from people that make it look like it's a done deal.
  14. wow, ol' flat brim is back! Good for him!
  15. It's a regional cover. Kevin Durant is on the cover in the majority of markets. crud. Guess I'll be getting Durant.
  16. I won't be there to meet you but I hope you have a pleasant stay. Sounds like the weather won't be all that terrible, either. Good luck on your travels!
  17. I am almost positive Casey is correct. I don't even have to click the link and I can instantly have the tune stuck in my head most of my morning.
  18. Heh, my Uecker here in Kingman is slightly AHEAD of the DBack tv broadcast.
  19. I was at that game. The reason they were gone was because guys were getting 10-20 of them at a time and taking them back to their car. My friend that I took to the game was ticked that he didn't get one when these other guys were walking off with bags (literally) stuffed with the bobble boxes.
  20. funny, I read 80% of the thread before I saw a post from myself and then realized that the thread was an old one. No wonder none of the links worked properly!
  21. I like his approach to the broadcast. Someone else said that he talks too much (I may have read that elsewhere today) but I think it is just the right amount. He and Rock seem to get along REALLY well, almost like two buddies talking at the bar. So different than when it was the Matt Vasgergian show with just about everything going over Bill's head or when Sutton was there and you could feel the tension between them dripping off your TV speakers as their styles completely clashed. I won't say that Lepay won't ever be a good broadcaster. Just right now, to me, he reeks of Jim Paschke, whom I just did NOT like as a baseball guy.
  22. In believe I heard on the MLB on XM station that Sutton is a correspondent for Perfect Game.
  23. I thought I remember reading a while back that Anderson's contract with the Brewers/FSN is through 2015 but I could be completely wrong about that. I concur, though, that he is among the best TV guys in the business. And not just baseball.
  24. To me, baseball announcing is easy if all you're judging it on is how they sound on big plays, exciting plays, etc. But that's not how I judge them. I have to listen to them the whole game and they better be able to keep my attention for most of the game--the uneventful parts of baseball. That's what makes Vin Scully great; he tells stories and anecdotes to keep the listeners attention. Very little dead air unless it is necessary. I'm a Badger fan and I like Lepay as a football and basketball guy. I just haven't been impressed like some others here have been. I do think that some of that is the "Rose (Bowl) colored glasses" as someone said--because he's so good at Badger hoops and Badger football, he is, thus, good at baseball. He reminds me A LOT of the Pirates TV crew. They are boring as heck. But when there is an exciting play or something, they suddenly come alive and are fun to listen to. When the monotony of baseball returns, they go back to their boring voices. To each his own, though. Everybody has different tastes and that is okay in my book. He may improve. I do not condone saying that we should let BA go since we could have Lepay, though. Yes, I realize that nobody is saying that.
