  1. just got done watching the game off the DVR, so I haven't read any posts from tonight yet . . . . who the heck called that play to end the game? Beetle Bailey? I so hate playground ball and 1-on-1 isos which end up 1-on-3 because the defense actually plays college defense instead of the stuff you'd see at Rucker Park. But, I'm glad they came back and kept it a game. When the 'Cuse dunked late in the 1st half to take the lead and then went on a 10-0 run or whatever, I thought the game was over. Oh, well. Go get 'em next year, Bucky!
  2. apparently, the game wasn't close enough. what a great game if you like pitching. Some fans probably felt like demanding a refund.
  3. hmm, Mark McGwire has failed for a few years now and Sammy Sosa (600+ HR) might fail as well. Or were you just referencing "clean" players? (Sheffield may be "clean" because he never appeared on a "list" but that doesn't mean he didn't use.
  4. crap, my wife and I took some really good photos when we were down there for the loss to the Cubs (boo!) and I totally forgot to post any of them as this thread slid off the main page. I'll have to get after that tonight.
  5. Interesting that I got our 20-pack last week while others have not received their "larger" cache of tickets yet, despite living closer.
  6. we ended up with about and inch of snow on the ground here but plenty dumped up in the mountains. Of course, the delayed the start of school today by 3 hours.
  7. yeah, kind of hard to make a graphic look sarcastic. I guess I could have used photoshop or something and gave the picture a blue-tint. Honestly, though, I have 2 of those Hooked on Classics albums on CD someplace. I would imagine that if you had to work out but you were required to listen to classical music (or baroque or romantic or whatever 'era' that is dumbed down to 'classical' music) that I would probably pick one of those albums. They at least have a beat to move to while running or exercising.

  9. The wife ran over a piece of metal this morning and punctured one of the tires on our main vehicle. That's not what bugs me, as it could happen to anybody. What bugs me is that this happened on Sunday instead of earlier in the week (while I was on VACATION) and could easily have got it replaced. Now I have to try and get this done during the work week which is just aggravation. Plus, I really was trying to wait until summer to replace those tires. Oh, well.
  10. I just want to say that we are expected to get snow down at the 3500 foot level tonight, so kind of excited. It helps that it'll be gone by noon tomorrow, but still.
  11. I'd take Andino but I'm pretty sure the Orioles will hold onto him with Brian Roberts' health being a big question mark for the entire season.
  12. I'm guessing, then, that Clark Kellogg was wrong last night when he was trying to explain it. He said that players outside the 3-point arc can't enter until after release. Which, of course, is what both players did in the two instances of lane violations. If the rule is, in fact, players outside the arc can't enter until the ball hits the rim, then it was the right call. Kellogg had me so confused last night.
  13. my ticket package (20-pack) was changed to fan choice last year after my mother- and sister-in-law were having trouble getting to some of the Friday games and/or selling other games they couldn't get to. So instead of having really good seats in Terrace Box 421 like they did for the first 10 years they moved all over the place in the Terrace Boxes and will likely have even worse seats this year. At least their playoff seats were comparable to the old seats.
  14. fixed that for you.
  15. UNC-Ashville is getting the royal screw job in this. That's now 3 calls that were obvious that have gone against them. Somehow, David Stern is involved in this. . . . .
  16. that sounds awesome! My wife and I have done that in the past for the Final Four but an all-day extravaganza?? I'd love to do that! I am surprised, however, that they allow you to play poker in their establishment.
  17. somebody read my mind. Beer, wings, pizza, etc. etc. etc. for the next 4 days. Nice timing by the school board to have spring break be this week.
  18. unfortunately, that is now the third different team that has had a player do an impersonation on camera of Kurkjian. This is almost like an inside joke. Is it funny? Sure. But if everybody is doing it, it becomes less funny.
  19. I saw that green triangular "wall" in the RF bleachers in my 2k12 baseball game the other night and thought, "that's gotta be a glitch or something", but sure enough there it is in your picture surrounding one of the support poles. It looks so out of place in the game and in real life. Thanks for the photos!
  20. We had to deal with 4 days of extreme Prince Fielder booing at Chase Field last year, and I'm pretty sure there will be 3 days of extreme Ryan Braun booing at Chase Field this year. Eh, such is life. I'm confident that Braunie will put up (unlike Fielder shutting up AKA doing nada at the plate the whole series) and be just fine.
  21. heh, typical "Sunday"-style lineup = big offense looks like we're in mid-season form
  22. SO. JEALOUS. Glad you enjoyed RMNP. There is so much to see, it's pretty much impossible to take it all in. But you're right about the humbling part. Kind of surprised the OLD Fall River Road was open, even to hikers, since it has so many unguarded (no guard rails) switchbacks and such. But bully for you that got to enjoy it!
  23. yep, and then said player usually hurries too much and strains an oblique or something and ends up being out even longer. I'd rather he sit out, completely heal and return when he's at 100% rather than go through a season of on-again/off-again DL trips and scratches from the lineup.
  24. yeah, as one of the "non-readers" of the original graphic novels, I was kind of taken aback by this. Perhaps I missed it, though, but what tore the hole in Dale? Wasn't the zombie's arms/hands up by Dale's head? Or even if they were down by his mid-section, they're powerful enough to just rip open your abdomen? Does this mean that I would be capable of this? I mean, I've gotta be stronger than some undead guy. Oh, and by the way, nice job sheriff's kid. Wonder if he'll own up to it since his character is starting to turn into a punk.
