  2. yep, you didn't have me for one second. Plus, you were too early. Nice try though.
  3. Called Directv and they tried to tell me nothing could done about it. After an hour on the phone and much deliberation (they tried to call it "user error") and gave me a credit on today's value of the Sports Pack (because I recorded it on 669 rather than on an official extra inning channel). Net result? $1.77 credit on my bill. What an insult! I'm glad I still have the corporate phone, address, and email from last fall because they're going to get an earful.
  4. You could've watched the replay. Ik they were replaying it tonight at some point.nope, we're out of state so Directv doesn't air the replays.
  5. at least you got to watch it. Just got home and my recording was cancelled due to a programming update!!! Directv will be getting a phone call tonight, you can count on that! I waited all day and avoided people like the plague to sit down and watch the game and won't get to. I don't care about the outcome--I wanted to watch some Brewers baseball!
  6. 1-0 seconded. I foresee a 4-1 win.
  7. Got it DVR'd at home. Will watch after school today. Made sure not to schedule my after school choir for today so I could go home earlier than normal on a Thursday. Making some grilled chicken and having a couple of beers, otherwise. Brats are on the Monday menu.
  8. According to the image on Google Maps, it's pretty much straight-on S to N.yeah, I went and checked that, too. Still, it's a "feel" thing when I'm actually in the building, based on walking around outside prior to the game and familiarity with the downtown area. Maybe the roof is just throwing off my internal compass a tad.
  9. I know that the Dbacks have done that. Fans camp out on the outfield, they can play catch, they watch a movie, and then sleep out there. Pretty awesome from what I've heard.
  10. so we're making a Sabathia-type acquistion at the end of April without actually giving someone up? Okay by me.
  11. Chase Field always seems more SSW - NNE to me, but it's probably close to S - N so no complaint. What is the purpose of this list, if you don't mind me asking?
  12. Based on the original poster typing his post on March 30, 1981 I was going to guess President Ronald Reagan or the crew of the Space Shuttle Columbia. Then, based on the 2nd post from March 30, 2014 I was going to guess it was our new Alien Overlord or Nicolas Cage, star of the hit movie "2014: The Year After the Year After the 2012 Disaster." The Packers would be great, as I remember the Patriots doing that 10 years ago in Boston. It was neat to see on TV. Of course, another poster said, "Could you imagine that crowd?" but I can't because every Opening Day from Miller Park shows the stands about only 1/2 full at first pitch of the actual game, never mind the ceremonial first pitch and the anthem. I understand why they're only 1/2 full but, as a fan, I find that very embarrassing.
  13. I probably posted already in this thread, but I'll make an amended guess if that is the case. I'll say Brewers win 88 games. Enough for the playoffs? Possibly but not definite.
  14. there's always several closers by the end of May who weren't expected to be closers who come completely out of no where. Saves in fantasy baseball is pretty much a category that I always punt on at drafts and pick up during the season.
  15. AL East-Red Sox AL Central-Tigers AL West-A's AL Wild Card-Rangers NL East-Phillies NL Central-Brewers NL West-Giants NL Wild Card-Braves Playoffs? AL Red Sox over Rangers Tigers over A's Tigers over Red Sox (in 6 games) NL Brewers over Braves Phillies over Giants Phillies over Brewers (in 7 games) World Series Phillies over Tigers (in 5 games) AL MVP Adrian Gonzalez NL MVP Prince Fielder AL Cy Young Justin Verlander NL Cy Young Roy Halladay AL Rookie of the Year Mike Moustakas NL Rookie of the Year Daniel Hudson (not sure if he's still eligible--I don't think so.) If not, I'll go with Brett Wallace (he's still eligible, right? BAH, he's not either) Okay, third try: How about Freddy Freeman? AL Manager of the Year Like it matters, but I'll go with Jim Leyland NL Manager of the Year Again, a totally meaningless award. How about Freddy Gonzalez
  16. so cliche, but "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey
  17. when I went to Norway, the bobsled/luge track was available in the warmer months as well. They had stuff on wheels so they can practice year round. No idea if that'd be available in SLC, too, though.
  18. anybody's MLB audio kind of "warbled" for lack of a better word? I can understand Ueck but it sounds like he's talking into a tin can.
  19. it's another arm, I guess. Gotta wonder what we gave up. Cash? Oh, wait. What would the Yankees want with that?
  20. to me, an "awful" season would be 90+ losses, so if the Brewers finish 72-90 or worse, then, yes, they will be awful. Anything between 73-89 and making the playoffs would just be a disappointment.
  21. Good night, Irene!
  22. thanks for sharing the photos. It's not that I miss snowstorms. I just miss weather in general. 300+ days of the year being sunshine will do that to a person. Most will disagree with me. But that's just the way I'm wired. I never thought that I'd miss snow when I moved here 14 years ago, but I do. When we get snow up on the mountains, I'll usually drive up there just to check it out and rekindle the love for weather. But a half-hour later, I've got my fill and ready to head back down. When we were up in Wisconsin two years ago, we were up for an extended stay. I got to shovel/snow blow for about 15 of the 25 days we were up there. I was ready to go home by day five. But still, I can look at it fondly because we don't get anything near that unpredictable here. Monsoon clouds and moisture every day from about July through September, sure. But only a handful of those days do we actually get any rain at our house--the cooler mountains usually suck all of the rain up before it hits the valley. That's about as predictable as it gets. As for your storm up there this week, were any of you really surprised at all? There is always a snow storm that coincides with either WIAA Girls or WIAA Boys weekend. That should be it for you until the fall, excepting for the rare snowfall that may come down in April.
