  1. The collective .245/.313/.391 line this team has is not only pathetic, but worse than the .253/.320/.390 line the 2002 team was able to muster. That said, I have a hard time believing that this offense is less than or equal to the Jose Hernandez/Richie Sexson led Brewers attack.
  2. Let's hope that Gagne improves to 2-0 on the season. Ugh.
  3. Last season Albert Pujols had a stretch of 22 games without a home run. It happens. Power outages are not uncommon, so I don't worry too much about Prince. I do, however, have the gut feeling that Ryan Braun is going to hit more HRs than Prince.
  4. The Terminator is the first movie I thought of. Having Kyle Reese be the man sent back to protect John Connor AND his father seems both impossible and plausible. Thinking about it too much makes my brain hurt. Taking the title of the thread literally, 'Armageddon' literally makes my brain hurt because there's a cut every 1.5 seconds.
  5. Boycotting Fox, Fox News, Fox Sports Net, FX, et al is an extreme response that does not necessarily solve anything. Boycotting Hench is one thing, but I don't see how now watching Brewer games on TV does anything but drive down the ratings and thus hurt the Brewers revenue generating potential.
  6. Marquette can't hit water if they fell out of a boat. This is painful to watch.
  7. The cover of the Rhinoplasty EP by Primus. The cover to Frizzle Fry might be next...
  8. My Verizon Wireless bill is well over $100 because I cannot go more than 5 minutes without updates when I am away from a radio/TV.
  9. Terrible foul by James...he should have just let Wallace take a contested three. MU had their chance to win the game, AND THEY BLEW IT! On the bright side, they're a lock for the NCAA tournament and outside of the race for 4th in the Big East this game did not have much tangible meaning. Though it was National Marquette Day...
  10. James was heavily reliant on batting average and ERA to make his point. I don't like this one bit.
  11. Frankie Sharp decides that although Cassandra is a great talent, it just isn't the right time for her to be signed to a record deal. Shortly thereafter an electrical fire burns Wayne's house to the ground. Afterwards we see Cassandra and Benjamin together on a tropical island.
  12. The whole point of broadcasting is to relay what is going on. Raising your voice is fine, yelling is not. That's exactly how I feel as well. What I like about Anderson and Larrivee is that they can express excitement while staying within a reasonable vocal range. Lepay does not do that very well.
  13. How would you rank them? 1) In my opinion Wayne Larrivee is the best play by play guy in the state. He describes the game beautifully and is the epitome of professional. 2) When Brian Anderson was hired my first though was thinking "they're hiring a guy from the Golf Channel? Really?" But he's been terrific and got better as the season went on. 3) Brian Posick has the best voice of them all as far as I'm concerned. Furthermore, I'm always aware of what's going on in the game despite being only minimally aware of the finer points of the game of hockey. 4) I think that Matt Lepay is vastly overrated by Badger fans. He's a good announcer but becomes unintelligible at times (I thought his call of the Flowers' GW shot vs. Texas was awful), displays inconsistent enthusiasm, and allows his Wisconsin bias to influence his call of the game. 5) I enjoy the World's Greatest Sports Talk show very much, but Steve "The Homer" True is hard to listen to, and I'm a big MU guy. He's might be the easily the most biased announcer of the bunch, and one might even call him a homer. I can't even tell you the name of the Bucks radio play by play guy.
  14. I used to be a Yankee hater, but then I started hanging around Boston sports fans. I honestly believe that they have never seen a QB besides Brady play. Any time he makes a decently good pass they will act as if he's the only person on the face of the earth that could make such a throw. Furthermore, they believe that they are superior to you if their sports team is better than your sports team. It's irritating.
  15. As bad as it would be to make it to four consecutive Superbowls and lose them all, I have to believe that what Eagles fans went through from '02-'06 was even worse. Not only did they lose 3 consecutive NFC Championship games, but when they finally got over the hump they lost the Super Bowl.
  16. Reds outfielder Dunn to undergo arthroscopic surgery on right knee First Junior, now this. Can Hatteberg bat twice? (added tags, added text to link --1992)
  17. Hitting: Chicago Cubs: 94 OPS+ Milwaukee Brewers: 106 OPS+ The Milwaukee Brewers have an OPS+ that is 12% better than the Chicago Cubs'. Pitching: Chicago Cubs: 113 ERA+ Milwaukee Brewers: 96 ERA+ The Chicago Cubs have an ERA+ that is 17% better than the Milwaukee Brewers'. The difference in pitching is actually rather dramatic, and yet it is nowhere near that mythical 40% figure.
  18. I believe that my traveling from my apartment to my new sports bar via light rail, then streetcar, to watch this team is essentially an admission that I'm a masochist. I too am a glutton for punishment. I also believe that if the Brewers win their next 2 games they will be in 1st place.
  19. I'm not sure the Brewers have gotten any better since the end of 2005. Consider: Batting: 2005: .259/.331/.423, 104 OPS+ 2007: .263/.327 /452. 107 OPS+ Pitching: 2005: 3.97 ERA, 106 ERA + 2007: 4.58 ERA, 96 ERA+ Right now the Brewers have the feel of a car stuck on ice...the wheels are spinning but the car isn't moving anywhere. Though I believe that Bush (102), Estrada (87), Suppan (100), Gross (97), and Vargas (91) (career ERA/OPS+ in parenthesis) were nice additions, they clearly are not the players to bring the Brewers to another level. We need another ace-type starter (Gallardo?, Villanueva?, Parra?) and an OBP machine or two if we really want to contend.
  20. What's really sad is that this team has REGRESSED since the end of 2005.
  21. My second favorite team happens to be the Royals (Family in KC), but I don't know if that would be much of an upgrade. I agree with the original poster. Sometimes I wonder if my life would be happier if Miller Park were never built...
  22. When his he going to be the man getting some big hits that win this team some games down the stretch. Like the one he had in against the Mets?
  23. Jenkins is hitting .290/.358/.561/.919 in the second half...I'd say he has been pretty hot.
